Cunliffe Cottage is a wonderfully bright and extremely spacious ground floor cottage, just 1 mile from the centre of Hathersage in the stunning Hope Valley. Beautifully refurbished in 2020, the cottage can be found at the end of a private drive on the friendly owner’s working farm and with the owners living adjacent. Benefitting from underfloor heating, three bedrooms, two of which are en-suite and a further bathroom, and stunning views over the surrounding countryside, it really does make for a luxury rural break. You’ll also find ample private parking and an enclosed patio with seating area to relax, take stock and simply enjoy the beautiful surroundings.
Hathersage is a large, busy village in the heart of the Peak District National Park, and has associations with both Robin Hood and the Brontës. It is home to a good selection of shops, cafés and restaurants, as well as, quite uniquely, a seasonal outdoor heated swimming pool. Centrally located, the neighbouring village of Bamford is just over 1 mile away, Hope 3 miles and then the beautiful honeypot village of Castleton is just under 5 miles away. The fascinating plague village of Eyam is around a 15 minute drive; Bakewell and Chatsworth House are around 20 minutes away. Hathersage, Bamford and Hope all have their own train stations connecting you to the bright lights of Sheffield and Manchester. An area popular with lovers of the great outdoors, you’ll find ample walking, cycling and climbing available. Stanage and Burbage Edge are both nearby and reward you with superb views of the Dark Peak moorlands. Ultimately whether you’re looking to explore this wonderful part of the Peak District by foot or by car, or simply escape from a hectic life, Cunliffe Cottage really does make a wonderful base. Bee Keepers Cottage is located on a working farm on the edge of Derbyshire’s Peak District, the cottage overlooks the 18 hole golf course at Shirland Golf and country club where visitors day passes are available.

The cottage has beautiful rural views and offers guests the peace and quiet of rural living yet within easy access of local attractions and transport networks, and there is a golf course boarding the property’s grounds and miles of footpath networks adjacent to the farm.

The accommodation at Bee Keepers cottage is spaced over a single storey and offers light, bright accommodation with beautiful gardens and views of the rolling Derbyshire countryside.

Chatsworth House, Hardwick Hall and Crich tramway museum are a short drive away. Local towns include Matlock, Bakewell and Chesterfield. Derby and Nottinghamshire are a 20-minute drive.

The location is popular with walkers who enjoy the beautiful walks and trails straight from the doorstep.

All accommodation is on the ground floor. The Large modern kitchen/dining area to seat 6 and opens out onto the living area with Smart TV. The kitchen has an electric eye level oven, built in microwave, induction hob, fridge/ freezer, dishwasher and washing machine.

Two bedrooms have king size beds, and the third a single bed, and there is a family bathroom with bath and shower above – there is also an additional shower room with quadrant shower cubicle, toilet and basin.

Outside there are two seating areas, a BBQ, gardens and plenty of off-road parking.

Guests are welcome to visit the horses in the barn next to the property (prior arrangement with the owner), please supervise children for their safety.

Little Barn is a light, bright, stunning detached barn situated on an equestrian centre, with sheep, hens and a very friendly dog. The barn is next to a golf course, overlooking rural countryside and with the owner living on-site. This property offers open plan living at its very best. A spacious living/kitchen/dining area has been furnished with a quirky, eclectic range of items, which will be adored by everyone who stays there. Little Barn has been designed for people who want to get away from it all regardless of the time of year to enjoy the beauty and tranquillity offered by this idyllic location. Relax on the patio and enjoy the views over the hills to the famous Crich Stand war memorial.
The cottage offers walking and cycling right from the doorstep, and within a 5-minute drive there are trials for walking, cycling and horse riding, and within 15 minutes is the Crich Tramway Museum. Little Barn is located next to the villages of Higham and Wessington where you will find country pubs serving food and real ale. Close by is Hardwick Hall, built in the 1590s by ’Bess of Hardwick’, the second most powerful woman in England after Queen Elizabeth I. The Hall, and even its original tapestries and textiles, have survived unaltered for four centuries, and it is now open to the public by the National Trust. Near the estate’s original water mill, still in operation and open to visitors, is the Hardwick Inn, also built in the 16th century, probably by the masons who built the hall.
A little further away are the delights of the Peak District, including Chatsworth House, a 30-minute drive, and the town of Matlock is just a 15-minute drive, with the amazing Heights of Abraham at nearby Matlock Bath, as well as some stunning countryside. For a nostalgic journey back in time through the Derbyshire countryside take a trip on one of Peak Rails steam engines, or visit Cromford Canal and take a trip into the past on an historic narrow boat. The towns of Chesterfield and Derby are just a 20-minute drive away, and nearby Nottinghamshire is also just 20-minutes away, here you can visit Nottingham’s castle or Sherwood Forest to go on a Robin Hood hunt! Close by is Teversal, a small village in Nottinghamshire which is surrounded by the Teversal Trail Visitors Centre, offering great access to the Teversal and Pleasley Trails network, perfect for enjoying a variety of walks and cycle routes. Visit the famous Crooked Spire in Chesterfield, Gulliver’s Kingdom in Matlock or for thrill seekers, Alton Towers theme park. This delightful cottage can be found on the edge of the Peak District in the picturesque village of Cutthorpe, down a private country lane on the owner’s non-working farm of 2 acres. Green Farm is surrounded by fields, woodland, footpaths and bridleways with direct access to the Linacre Reservoirs and Holmebrook Country Park. Tawny Owl Barn is a beautifully converted stone barn, situated over two floors, retaining many original features. The ground floor lays claim to a cosy living room complete with a warming wood burner, leather sofas, exposed stone walls and wooden beams. There is also a fully-equipped kitchen/dining room, a great social space with a large dining table so you can have a home cooked meal with all the family, as well as a single bedroom with an oak sliding barn door. Head upstairs where you will find two en-suite bedrooms with varnished, natural wooden floors, one with a double bed and one with twin beds. Double glazed and centrally heated throughout, this barn is perfect for families and groups all year round.
Outside, there is a fully enclosed private garden with a patio table and chairs, a barbeque and views over open countryside. There is a gate giving access to the fully enclosed hot tub (which is available all year for an additional charge, payable locally). This also includes the supply of additional towels and dressing gowns. We have a one acre paddock to exercise your dog in. Up to two well behaved dogs.
Cutthorpe has two pubs within walking distance that are dog friendly and serve food. It has a pretty village green and benefits from panoramic views over Chesterfield with its famous crooked spire. The village is located on the edge of the Peak District National Park, yet is only 3 miles from The popular market town of Chesterfield. Its perfect location allows you to explore historic houses, walking, cycling and visiting the tourist towns of Bakewell, Matlock, Castleton, Buxton, Eyam and Hathersage. If its stately homes, castles and gardens you would like to visit, the magnificent Chatsworth House is only 10 minutes drive away; the grounds and house will provide a full day out. Within 30 minutes you can also visit Packwood house, Bolsover castle, Renishaw hall, Haddon hall and Hardwick hall.

For those that are more active, there are numerous options varying from local walks from your door, to more adventurous walks in the Peak District. Cyclists are also well catered for with a variety of road and off road tracks and trails. Additionally there is shooting, canoeing, horse riding, go ape, abseiling, climbing, fishing and golf all available nearby. Alternatively you can just relax and enjoy the tranquillity that Green Farm offers. The nearest shop is 2 miles, café 1½ miles, post office, doctors are all available locally.

This delightful semi-detached bungalow lies in an idyllic location, surrounded by the spectacular countryside of the White Peak and close to the owner’s home, offering an ‘away from it all’ holiday retreat and is perfect for anyone who loves the great outdoors. There is an abundance of walking direct from the door, including to the sharp-edged limestone Chrome Hill and Parkhouse Hill, which as the remains of coral reefs are among the most remarkable sights of the area. The location of Booth Farm Bungalow is approached by a winding road through stunning limestone scenery and open moorland, and yet whilst rural, is just 5 miles from the Peak Park centre of Buxton. Longnor Village with its quaint cobbled market square and traditional pubs is just a 10 minute drive, and the ever popular villages of Hartington, Bakewell, Eyam and Castleton are all easily reachable in around half an hour, as are the magnificent historic houses of Chatsworth and Haddon Hall.
