Maggie’s Place is located next to a busy working dairy farm in a rural part of Devon, so it is the perfect property to enjoy the sights, sounds and scents of the country. Inside the barn you will find a king size bedroom with adjacent shower room and an open plan living area which includes the living, dining and kitchen area. The latter has everything you need for your holiday. The living area has a double sofa bed, a TV/DVD player with a good choice of films and an Amazon fire stick.
Maggie’s Place is only a short drive from Bradworthy, home to a local friendly pub offering locally sourced, freshly cooked food and local ales. There is also a farm shop nearby, Lizzies Larder where they do a great breakfast and meals and dogs are welcome. Maggie’s Place is also just 7 miles from the market town of Holsworthy to the south with its various shops, cafés and restaurants plus Holsworthy Museum, golf club, pottery, archery centre, horse riding stables and main supermarket.
14 miles to the north is the port town of Bideford and just 13 miles from the Cornish coastal town of Bude. In nearby Cornwall there’s King Arthur’s Tintagel, lovely Boscastle and many other coastal villages - all with awe-inspiring scenery. The fantastic Southwest Coast Path runs through the region’s rugged coastline and is perfect for walkers and view seekers offering 90 miles of stunning walks. Most beaches allow dogs during the main season such as Summerleaze, Sandymouth, Duckpool and North Cott all have good facilities. The ports of Port Isaac, Port Quinn and Port Gaverne are nice to visit and swim as well as letting your dog have a dip.
The famed Upper and Lower Tamar Lakes are just a 15 minute drive away great for a 3mile walk and lunch in the cafe. There is also Roadford Lake which is also good for dog walks and lunch. The popular Tarka Trail is one of the country’s longest continuous traffic-free walking and cycling paths and provides the unique opportunity to follow disused railway lines allowing you to enjoy some of Devon’s finest countryside and river scenery. Padstow, Newquay and Dartmoor are a hour away. For a day with a difference why not take a trip across to Lundy Island, home to England’s first statutory Marine Nature Reserve due to its unique flora and fauna?

Oaklands is a luxurious and spacious holiday home set in its own acre of ground, with three beautiful bedrooms, two bathrooms and an open plan kitchen, dining and living area all on the same level. The doorways are wide enough for wheelchairs and ramps can be provided over the doorways if requested, however please note the property hasn’t been specifically set-up for wheelchair users so the kitchen and bathrooms may not be suitable The accommodation feels bright and welcoming with high beamed ceilings, underfloor heating throughout and plenty of large windows, patio doors and sliding doors seamlessly blending the living spaces with the outdoor landscape. Guests will love the rural tranquil location with plenty of wildlife, starry skies, distant views of Dartmoor and beautiful scenery that this perfect get away can offer.
The large kitchen is fully equipped with a farmhouse cooker with two ovens and an induction hob, a fridge/freezer, microwave, coffee machine, dishwasher and a washing machine. After a fun-filled day exploring Devon, gather your friends and family around the large dining table for a celebratory homecooked meal and relax on the comfortable sofas and armchairs or sit outside with a glass of wine and watch the sun go down.
There are three comfortably furnished bedrooms. The master has a kingsize bed, an en-suite shower room and patio doors opening out onto the beautiful decked area. Welcome to Honey Hill Farm Cottages, the home of both Honey Bee (UK43395) and Bumble Bee (UK43396) cottages, two fabulous holiday homes. Set all on one level, they have been finished to a very good standard and nestle in the heart of the Devonshire countryside, yet within easy reach of the Jurassic coast and midway between the towns of Axminster and Chard.
Both properties are identical layouts inside, enjoying underfloor heating throughout and with a spacious open plan living, kitchen and dining areas. The gorgeous kitchens are very well equipped with everything you will need during your stay, including a handy washer/dryer. The living room has comfy sofas, Smart TV to catch up on your latest box set and large French doors leading to your private enclosed garden which has a lovely patio area and artificial grass allowing children and your four legged friends to enjoy the garden at any time of year. In Honey Bee you will find a kingsize bed while Bumble Bee has a double bed, both have an en-suite shower rooms with walk in showers, the en-suite is a ‘Jack and Jill’ bathroom which allows access from both the bedroom and main living area. A ‘Murphy’ pull down double bed is available in the main living area with curtain to separate, allowing four guests to comfortably enjoy these wonderful retreats in the country. Opposite the parking area you will find the owner’s 4-acre field for walking the dogs and enjoying the views.
You will find a local pub/restaurant and farm shop within a 5-minute walk of the properties, alternatively, jump in the car and explore the many things to do within a short drive. Axminster has small independent shops as well as larger stores and a railway station, so you could leave the car at home and hop aboard and head down to Exeter for a day in the city sampling restaurants or a spot of retail therapy!
The Jurassic Coast beaches of Lyme Regis and Charmouth are just 20 minutes from you, here you can walk the promenade, swim in the sea or have an ice cream at Lyme, or hunt for Fossils in Charmouth while your dog swims in the river or the sea. Pop over to Honiton and hunt for an antique or two in the many shops there, or find a local farm shop and have a traditional Devonshire cream tea! Beach 9 miles.

There is a local bus service with 5 return times per day taking you to Torrington, Bideford and Okehampton. The market town of Hatherleigh is just 3.5 miles away and the breathtaking Dartmoor National Park is within a 20 minute drive.
The towns of Great Torrington and Bideford lie close by, where you will find most amenities. The Eden Project can be enjoyed within an hour’s drive, but even closer to your Hatherleigh cottage are Okehampton Castle, the RHS gardens at Torrington and the War Horse Valley Family Park at Iddesleigh. The Milky Way and The Big Sheep adventure parks will fascinate the younger ones. Surrounded by rolling green fields in splendid isolation, West Yeo Farm is set over 76 acres. This medieval farm, mentioned in the Domesday book, enjoys uninterrupted countryside views across the valley to the village of Witheridge beyond. There are many interesting walks across the land and along the river nearby, and in the autumn, it is possible to help with the annual apple harvest and cider production. This part of Devon is an excellent touring base with easy access to lots of places of interest. Nearby you can explore the Two Moors Way, visit RHS Rosemoor, The Grand Western Canal, Knightshayes House or the breathtaking scenery at Exmoor National Park, a short drive away. There are plenty of National Trust properties in the area, as well as some fabulous villages and farm shops.
West Yeo Farm is just a couple of miles from Witheridge and a short drive from the market town of South Molton, known for its pannier market, quaint tea rooms and antiques shops. The accommodation is set midway between Devon’s two coastlines, convenient for a day out to either. The award-winning North Devon coastline is within a 50-minute drive and has golden sandy surfing beaches, whilst the Jurassic South Devon coastal beauty spots are within an hour’s drive.

This property is located near the popular port town of Ilfracombe and just under 3 miles from the nearest beach. It is situated on a small complex of 5 star properties, one of which the owners live in and is accessed via a private agricultural lane owned by the adjacent property. The Shippon is a four bedroom barn conversion with an open plan living space which is the hub of the property. There is a piano in the lounge. The kitchen has a fantastic island with an induction hob where real foodies can cook up a storm while chatting with other guests who can sit with a drink whilst their meal is being prepared. Outside there is a private raised garden and orchard area with countryside views, the Bristol Channel and Wales to enjoy.
The property is in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty ( AONB ) and 4 miles from Ilfracombe’s lovely harbour and port which dates back to the 12th century, with quality ice cream, fish and chip shops, various craft shops and art galleries to enjoy. The surrounding area has many attractions waiting to be discovered including Cairn Woodland Nature Reserve, Hillsborough and Rapperee Cove, Watermouth Bay, the South West Coast Path and for the family, Watermouth Castle and Theme Park. You can have a day out on Lundy Island, go diving or take a trip on the Ilfracombe Princess and see seals, porpoises and sea birds nesting on the cliffs. Try your hand at sea fishing on Blue Fin or take an exhilarating tour of the amazing coastline on the Ilfracombe Sea Safari or on the Hampshire Rose, a former RNLI Lifeboat.
Ilfracombe is perfectly situated to enjoy countless other North Devon attractions such as the popular Tarka Trail, Exmoor National Park 20 minutes’ drive away and the breath taking Valley of the Rocks at Lynton with its incredible sea views, rugged cliffs and amazing funicular cliff railway to Lynmouth, which opened in 1890 and is the highest and steepest entirely water powered railway in the world!
There are also numerous great pubs within walking distance 4km (plus the owners are happy to pick you up on the way home!). Sawmills in Watermouth Valley and 1675 traditional pub in Berrynarbor and stunning Sandy Cove Hotel in Combe Martin Bay which has stunning coastal views. This area plays host to world class beaches including Saunton Sands, Woolacombe and Croyde – all of which are famous for their surfing and vast stretches of golden sand. Beach 2¾ miles.

As you enter Crows Nest into the entrance hallway you find bedrooms 1 and 2 to either side, comprising a double bedroom with built in storage and a twin bedroom which can be converted to a super kingsize bed on request. There is also a downstairs shower room leading off from the hallway. Just down the hallway on the right is a well-equipped kitchen with everything you could need during your stay, including a dishwasher for hassle free family meals and a washing machine for muddy clothes. Here a door leads out onto the rear patio, with garden furniture, a hot tub with bluetooth speaker and LED changing lights, and a gas barbecue, ideal for dining al-fresco.
Also on the ground floor is the living room with patio doors leading through to the conservatory, which provides access to the garden and really brings the outside in. The wrap around rear garden is very pleasant with decked area, seating and hot tub, as well as a partly lawned area to the side. From here you can enjoy panoramic sea views and this south-facing area catches the sun all day.
Upstairs on the first floor are bedrooms 3 and 4, comprising 2 double bedrooms with extra storage. Bedroom 3 also has the added benefit of sea views and a Smart TV. The main family bathroom is also on this floor and features a bath and separate shower cubicle, as well as sea views. The driveway provides off road parking for around 3 cars. Beach ¾ mile.
