Meadows Huts, Foxglove (UK37639) and Forget-Me-Not (UK37646) are located just outside of the quaint village of Parwich, 5 miles from the nearest town, Ashbourne. This area of the Peak District is fantastic for exploring the countryside. The High Peak trail and the Tissington trail are both within 3 miles of the huts as well as recognised cycle routes. Dovedale is a must to visit whilst in the area, read up on the history of the steppingstones and take the walk yourselves up Thorpe Cloud where you will see breath-taking views well worth the hike. If you are more of a thrill seeker Alton Towers is only a 20-minute drive which makes a fun day out for all the family or take on some water sports at Carsington reservoir.
After all this enjoy a nice meal in the evening at the local pub. Foxglove and Forget-me-not are two similar shepherds’ huts, both finished to an incredible standard with home comforts in mind. The open plan living space has a double bunk bed allowing space for four guests, a dining area with a TV, there is also Wi-Fi provided and electric radiators. The kitchen is well equipped with electric oven, hob and fridge, plus there is a shower room within the hut. Nearby you will discover Bolsover Castle which is managed by English Heritage. The castle has a fairytale quality to it as it sits on a hill top overlooking the surrounding countryside. Dating from the 17th century, the castle is now home to magnificent paintings, extensive gardens and a Discovery Centre.
Situated between the Peak District National Park and Sherwood Forest, this region really is a fantastic location to enjoy a wide variety of landscapes and fabulous walking opportunities at any time of the Year. Shop is a ¼ of a mile, pub and restaurant is ½ a mile away.

Originally a much loved home rather than a holiday let, Silk Hill Stables still retains its homely ambiance with many original features and great attention to detail. This spacious one bedroom stable conversion is on a working livery and offers comfortable accommodation in scenic rural surroundings on the edge of the Peak District National Park. From the owner’s gate the famous Kinder Scout can be seen and there are many picturesque walks direct from the doorstep. For those with four-legged travelling companions a dog hatch leads from the kitchen into the completely enclosed patio area, with seating and barbecue which is great for the long summer nights. You’ll find lots of useful doggy extras, and as an added bonus by prior arrangement with the owner there is even an outdoor area on site where you can let your dogs have a run around stress free. A short walk will take you into the small friendly town of Whaley Bridge where you’ll find food serving pubs, some dog friendly, cafés and restaurants. 5 minutes the other way is the famous Buxwoth Basin and pub. There is a train station in Whaley Bridge with direct services to both Manchester and Buxton. Shop and restaurant 1 mile, pub ¼ mile.

Enjoy quality family time by staying in the beautiful area of the Peak District on the owner’s working livestock farm, where there is no light pollution and a great location for stargazing at night. Carr View (Ref UK36953) is one of two holiday properties finished to an extremely high standard and the owner takes great pride in ensuring you have the perfect stay. On the ground floor you will enter into the boot room, which has a neatly placed washing machine in a cupboard, kick your boots off and enter into the beautifully designed open plan kitchen which has all you need to enjoy your self-catering holiday with the dining room which has ample seating for six guests made up of chairs and a bench. The living room is very cosy with comfy sofas and an electric wood burner to bring a wonderful sense of relaxation to the room. Upstairs are three bedrooms, all with zip and link beds that can be made into twins on request, the master bedroom has a slightly larger bed and an en-suite. The family bathroom carries the same quality as the rest of the house and has been done beautifully, with walk in shower and bath.
Outside is a garden with a patio area and lawn, perfect to watch the sun rise and set. There is also a river running through the site, and a lake giving the opportunity for some cold water wild swimming!
The helpful owners, that live on-site, are on hand should you need anything, and provide luxury towels, complimentary toiletries, a welcome pack and even a Christmas tree for holidays throughout December.
There are electric car charging points just 5 minutes away in The Anglers Rest pub car park, and just 10 minutes away in the Hope village car park.

Or alternatively, a short drive into Castleton to visit the caves or venture into nearby towns of Bakewell and Buxton. This fantastic Grade II listed farm house building is bursting with character. It is spacious and has social rooms to be enjoyed, plus extensive gardens with beautiful views down the valley. The ground floor of this home offers a typical farmhouse style kitchen with traditional Rayburn and dining table in the centre of the room, there is an electric/gas range cooker also available, plus everything else you should need to cook up a great meal for all. There is a dining room, a sitting room with a wood burner, a further living room with a TV and an extensive DVD selection, a utility with additional fridge and freezer space, washing machine and tumble dryer, plus hanging space to dry clothes. There are also two downstairs toilets, plus a double bedroom. On the first floor are the remainder of the bedrooms, one having an en-suite. The rooms are made up of a variety of sleeping arrangements to suit all the family, and there is a fantastic bathroom with free standing roll tap bath, large shower and ’his and her’ sinks.
Outside in the rear garden you have beautiful views down the valley, there is a patio area with furniture and a lawn. To the front of the property there is ample parking, a covered barbeque area with dining table plus further seating gathered around a firepit to enjoy the summer evenings.
Tissington has a lot to offer; it is the home of the well-dressing event, Tissington Hall, and the Tissington Trail is one of the best walking and cycling routes in the Peak District. Another fantastic walk from Tissington is to Dovedale, where the famous Dovedale stepping stones are. Alton Towers is a 25 minute drive which makes a great day out for all the family. This truly is a fantastic property to return back to after you have finished exploring for the day.

Also close by is the Peak District town of Matlock, together with its neighbour, Matlock Bath, which are set in the beautiful wooded gorge of the river Derwent. Matlock offers a range of shops, pubs, and restaurants as well as a whole host of other exciting attractions. Magnificent views down the gorge can be enjoyed from the cable car, which takes visitors up to the Heights of Abraham - a great place for all the family! South of the town is the start of the High Peak Cycle Trail, whilst to the north lie the market town of Bakewell, Haddon Hall and Chatsworth House - not to be missed! Close by Belper, situated in the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage site, is a town with a long and famous history dating back to the 13th century, when it was then called Beaurepaire (beautiful retreat), a name that still holds today. Now you’ll find it to be a spirited and bustling town, with attractions including the North Mill, Long Row and the River Gardens. There is a thriving local music and arts scene, and the town hosts an annual Arts festival every May as well as winter and summer food festivals and a monthly farmers’ market.

Tastefully furnished to a very good standard throughout, the open-plan living and kitchen area with its stunning beamed vaulted ceiling creates a warm and cosy social environment. Located on the owners grounds, thoughtful additional extras can be provided at the owners discretion where possible making the full stay an extra special experience. These can include provision of a breakfast pack, special occasion pack, a cooked breakfast in the main house, or a cooked evening BBQ, which is available on request. Extra costs payable direct to the owner apply where food is provided, however the immaculately maintained gardens as shown to the public as part of Barlow Open Gardens can be dressed and lit at no extra cost. The zen area and outdoor fire can be lit once during your stay upon request. This area is available at the owners discretion. Please note this area is not available if the owners are not present.
The Barn is conveniently located 115 steps away from The Peacock at Barlow bar and restaurant offering the best views around, as well as just 80 steps away from The Hackney House Cafe and gift shop which serves a hearty breakfast and is renowned in the area for its home cooking. The Barn at Woodland View can be found in the small Derbyshire hamlet of Barlow. Most famous for its well dressings, the village uniquely has 3 wells, which the villagers decorate and round the occasion off with a carnival weekend. On the edge of the Peak District National Park, the area is home to excellent walking and with a host of attractions available in the vicinity. The large market town of Chesterfield famous for its crooked spire is just 15 minutes away, and the magnificent historic houses of Chatsworth Estate and Haddon Hall are around 20 minutes. The ever-popular Bakewell and Hathersage in the heart of the Hope Valley are also around 20 minutes and the beautiful honeypot village of Castleton and wonderfully historic plague village of Eyam are around half an hour.
