The bright lights of Blackpool are just 4 miles away and can be reached on foot following the promenade along the seafront. Here you’ll find its many attractions including, Blackpool Tower, Pleasure Beach and Blackpool Zoo. Just a few miles further will take you to the rolling sand dunes of Lytham St Anne’s and the cosmopolitan Lytham which holds annual events such as The Proms and a kite festival. Venture inland and you’ll find the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, known for its picturesque country villages, wonderful walking and friendly local pubs. The Yorkshire Dales National Park is also within easy reach as is the Lake District National Park.

Cleveleys seafront is home to the Mythic Coast Artwork trail, where striking giant sculptures bring to life ’The Sea Swallow’ story. The vast beach is made up of sand and shingle, and you’ll find traditional past times of sandcastle building, and kite flying are as popular as ever. A few miles inland is the neighbouring village of Thornton, where you’ll find more shops, pubs and restaurants together with an 18th Century windmill and Wyre Estuary Country Park. The bright lights of Blackpool, Blackpool Pleasure Beach and Blackpool Tower are just 4 miles round the coast, and a few miles further you’ll reach the beautiful sandy beaches of St Annes and, wonderfully cosmopolitan, Lytham. Located a short distance from Morecambe, a seaside resort with a sandy beach and long promenade. On the north end of the promenade, you can find Happy Mount Park which is open all year round. For wetter days or evening entertainment, Morecambe’s Soul Bowl is located on Central Promenade with its ten bowling lanes, restaurant and bar. If you wish to venture in the opposite direction, historic Lancaster is a short drive away. Lancaster Castle is a must see, as is a visit to Willamson Park and Butterfly House.

Highfield Cottage can be found in a desirable rural location in the Lancashire village of Hambleton, near Poulton-le-Fylde. Detached and surrounded by stunning gardens the property boasts both the main house plus a quaint separate annex across the courtyard.
The accommodation is perfect for those special group occasions with the main house itself incredibly spacious, beautifully furnished and with a selection of living and dining rooms. The farmhouse style kitchen is equipped to cook a storm, and there’s a study for anyone needing to catch up on emails. The pièce de resistance however is its own fabulous bar area complete with darts board and full size snooker table. The first floor contains four bedrooms of which two have their own dressing rooms and en-suite facilities, and in the family bathroom you’ll find a spa bath for that extra bit of added luxury. The beautiful Fylde coast can be reached in around 15 minutes including Thornton Cleveleys with its old fashioned charm and promenade, Fleetwood with the Freeport Outlet Shopping Village and of course the razzle, dazzle, glitz and glamour of Blackpool. To name a few of the many Blackpool attractions you have the famous Tower and Ballroom, Blackpool Zoo, the Pleasure Beach, Coral Island, the Sea Life Centre and Madame Tussauds. Aside from being accessible for the coast, the location is also well-placed for exploring rural Lancashire. The Ribble Valley, Forest of Bowland AONB, the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales National Parks can all be reached around an hour. The city of Lancaster is just 16 miles away and Preston 18 miles. The property is just a 5-minute drive from the M6 motorway making it easily accessible to the south Lake District National Park and North Yorkshire. In wonderfully cosmopolitan Lytham there is a variety of bars, cafés, boutique shops and restaurants, and in St Annes you will find a beautiful sandy beach with colourful beach huts. The area is internationally famous for golf and the towns also host various events throughout the year, including the Lytham Proms and St Annes Kite Festival. Blackpool needs little introduction with its many attractions including the famous tower, Madame Tussauds Waxworks, the Sealife Centre, Pleasure Beach and Blackpool Zoo. For a change of scenery the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, which is much loved for its stunning countryside and picturesque villages, can be reached in about half an hour.
