There are miles of beach to explore with lots of dog friendly sections for your furry friends. The bright lights of Blackpool are just 4 miles away and can be reached on foot following the promenade along the seafront. Here you’ll find its many attractions including, Blackpool Tower, Pleasure Beach and Blackpool Zoo. Just a few miles further will take you to the rolling sand dunes of Lytham St Anne’s and the cosmopolitan Lytham which holds annual events such as The Proms and a kite festival. Venture inland and you’ll find the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, known for its picturesque country villages, wonderful walking and friendly local pubs. The Yorkshire Dales National Park is also within easy reach as is the Lake District National Park.

The Forest of Bowland, which is one of the UK’s designated Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, covers over 300 square miles of rural Lancashire, and North Yorkshire is right on the doorstep. Other popular walks include Pendle Hill and the Tolkien Trail. The Forest of Gisburn is just 12 miles away. Other popular activities nearby include golf, fishing and swimming.

Sunderland Point is set at the mouth of the River Lune on the southern shores of Morecambe Bay. It’s remote and secretive split of land allows the chance for nature to thrive, and thus, is a perfect spot for bird watching. The popular seaside resort of Morecambe hosts many attractions from picking up the freshly caught shrimp at the daily farmers market to afternoon tea’s on the seafront, there is lots to offer. There is an abundance of fun to be had for the family including bowling, cinema and arcade centres or why not try out the quirky cafés, pubs and cocktail bars along the sea front?
The property is just a 5-minute drive from the M6 motorway making it easily accessible to the south Lake District National Park and North Yorkshire. The Lancashire mill town of Bacup is around a 2-mile drive, and here you’ll find a comprehensive range of shops and amenities. Located on the Lancashire/Yorkshire boundary, it’s also home to Stubbylee Park which has an outdoor gym, tennis courts and an off road cycling ‘pump track’. Rawtenstall is around a 15-minute drive and boasts cobbled streets, a thriving market and local independent businesses. It has one of the best dry ski slopes in England and is also the northern point of the heritage East Lancs Railway.
The mountain bike trails of Lee and Cragg Quarry can be picked up just outside Bacup, and the surrounding countryside including the nearby Rossendale Valley is popular with walkers and hikers. Other local attractions include The Whitaker Art Gallery, the ’Singing Ringing Tree’ and the ’Halo’, Burnley and Rossendale’s panopticons, and the National Trust’s Gawthorpe Hall. Finally, the city of Manchester is around a 40-minute drive or a 30-minute direct train from Walsden or Todmorden train stations.

The beautiful Fylde coast can be reached in around 15 minutes including Thornton Cleveleys with its old fashioned charm and promenade, Fleetwood with the Freeport Outlet Shopping Village and of course the razzle, dazzle, glitz and glamour of Blackpool. To name a few of the many Blackpool attractions you have the famous Tower and Ballroom, Blackpool Zoo, the Pleasure Beach, Coral Island, the Sea Life Centre and Madame Tussauds. Aside from being accessible for the coast, the location is also well-placed for exploring rural Lancashire. The Ribble Valley, Forest of Bowland AONB, the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales National Parks can all be reached around an hour. The city of Lancaster is just 16 miles away and Preston 18 miles.
