    The pretty village of Bolton-by-Bowland is just a mile away, offering two village greens and a local pub. Pendle Hill and the historical story of the Pendle Witches can be reached within 20 minutes. The Ribble Valley and Forest of Bowland is fast becoming a popular gastronomic destination too, with many great pubs and restaurants serving local cuisine within a short distance from Corgill Farm Cottages. The many picturesque rural villages within the Trough of Bowland including Slaidburn, Newton and Downham, to name just a few, can all be reached within 15 minutes, and all have a village pub. The popular market town of Clitheroe, with its castle, many individual shops, bars and restaurants, is just 6¼ miles away. For cyclists, Gisburn Forest Mountain Biking Centre is only 3½ miles away and has been featured in many mountain biking books and magazines.
    The beauty of this location allows visitors to explore not just Lancashire, but also the Yorkshire Dales, with the market town of Skipton, the ‘Gateway to the Dales’, located just 15 miles away. The South Lakes can be reached within an hour’s drive and makes for a great day out with challenging mountains to conquer or a more leisurely cruise on Lake Windermere. They are situated next to the owner’s working dairy farm, which has been in the family for over three generations and has been supplying fresh milk for the villagers for years. So why not sit back and relax from the comfy sofa and enjoy views over to Ingleborough all while watching the cows coming in for milking twice a day. As you arrive at the property there will even be some fresh milk for you to try!

    A short walk away is the village of Warton village with its local pub, where you can enjoy a traditional pub meal and local ales. If you like walking, Warton Crag is close by and is a prominent limestone crag which offers a fantastic opportunity to see views right across Morecambe Bay. There is a lovely picnic area at Warton Crag Quarry and many walks leading to surrounding nature reserves. The walk is within the spectacular Arnside and Silverdale Area of Outstanding Beauty. This region is also very popular with nature lovers, bird watchers and cyclists all taking in the shoreline, woodlands and marshlands (where you will also find the RSPB Leighton Moss close by).

    Located in the rural hamlet of Moss Side on the outskirts of wonderfully cosmopolitan Lytham, this wonderful complex of six holiday cottages provide a perfect base for friends and family alike wanting a fabulous seaside getaway. Newly renovated in 2022 they’re set around a pretty courtyard and surrounded by superb countryside despite being just 3 miles from the coast.
    There’s a variety of single and two-storey cottages all comfortably accommodating four guests, plus an additional three bedroom cottage that comes complete with hot tub. Careful thought and design has gone into each of the conversions making great use of original features where possible. Large windows have also been included to many of the open plan living arrangements to ensure a bright and airy space, and to really make the most of the countryside views.
    The centre of ‘Leafy Lytham’ is less than 3 miles away, or a 4 minute train journey from Moss Side station which is around a 10 minute walk. Lytham is a lovely seaside town where you can enjoy everything from fish and chips to fine dining plus lots of coffee shops. It’s famed for its iconic ‘Windmill on the Green’, as well as the annual Lytham Festival and Lytham Proms. A direct train service will also take you to neighbouring St Annes in 10 minutes where you’ll find a huge beautiful sandy beach, and then in 20 minutes you’ll reach Blackpool. Blackpool is home to a massive amount of tourist attractions including Blackpool Pleasure Beach, Blackpool Tower, the Sandcastle Water Park, SEA LIFE Blackpool and of course the annual illuminations light show.
    For any golfers, there’s plenty of championship courses in the area and the reeds and marshes of the Ribble Estuary are popular with birdwatchers and wildlife lovers.
