This delightful holiday home, adjoining the owner’s home, provides, rural, romantic accommodation in the heart of the North York Moors National Park. The layout is set out over the ground floor, with a first floor bedroom. Guests are greeted with a modern kitchen on entering through the front door. This is a well-equipped space that is ideal for preparing meals when on your escape. Through the inner hallway that offers storage and access to the bathroom, you will reach the cosy living/dining room, which is a welcome haven after a hard day’s walking or exploring the east coast. The French doors in the living room open out on the patio, perfect to sit and enjoy a glass of wine. The bedroom is on the first floor and offers a Velux window suitable to enjoy the views from. Outside you will also have private use of a hot tub to relax in, and the owner has thoughtfully provided bath robes and slippers for the hot tub, and complementary toiletries. With a wood burner in the living area, you are sure to stay warm and cosy.

The beautiful village of Brompton lies 8 miles to the west of Scarborough, a tranquil picturesque village home to the church where the poet William Wordsworth married. A picture postcard village with a small stream running down to a picnic area. Here you can feed the ducks and watch the swans and other wildlife.
The farmer’s hens roam freely around the village which gives that feeling of really being in the countryside and amongst the farming community. The house is in a quiet area next to the church and benefits from a large enclosed garden with woodland areas and lots of space for the children to run and play. There’s a Wendy house and a summer house that serve as a getaway for the kids, with game consoles and a TV. Lawnswood is just two miles from the North Yorkshire Moors National Park, where there are fantastic walks and trails that lead up to the Dalby Forest. The forest is famous for its bike trails and in the past has been home to the World Championship Mountain Bike event. The visitor centre within the forest is popular all year round with its great café and the events that are organised for the children throughout the year. It’s also home to ‘Go Ape’ a high ropes adventure course with zip wires and swings.

For those of you who enjoy bird watching there’s the RSPB bird sanctuary at Bempton Cliffs where you can view thousands of migrating seabirds from the cliff top viewing points. People travel from all over to watch the comical puffins. The cyclists amongst you can enjoy some of the routes from the Tour de Yorkshire, as well as the wonderful Dalby Forest, home to miles and miles of mountain bike tracks. With over 8,000 acres of woodland pathways there’s plenty of woodland walks to enjoy, as well as the Cleveland Way. Yorkshire is famous for its market towns, Pickering, Malton, Beverley and Driffield are all a short drive from Aysgarth Lodge. In the village you will find a supermarket, post office, traditional pub, bistro pub, fish and chip shop and a church 100-400 yards. There is a garden centre. 10-15 minute flat walk which has a lovely café. Supermarket and fast food outlets within a 5 minute drive, all in the same place.
