These include Biddulph Grange Gardens, 4 miles, the Potteries at Stoke-on-Trent, 8 miles, Trentham Gardens, 11 miles, Lyme Park House and Gardens, 16 miles, and Alton Towers Theme Park 17 miles. The School House is a truly wonderful detached, Grade II listed stone built cottage situated in a rural position in the hamlet of Bradnop, less than 1 mile from the picturesque Peak District National Park. Thoughtfully and extensively renovated throughout to offer spacious, comfortable accommodation and even boasts its very own private hot tub for guests use. Many of the original features have been carefully retained including beams, exposed stone walls and fireplace to name but a few. There is a well-kept enclosed garden at the front of the property and a paddock area to the rear.
The small and pretty rural hamlet of Bradnop is situated on the western edge of the Peak District National Park. Close by you will find the market town of Leek with its array of antique shops and quirky crafts. The thriving picturesque market town of Ashbourne and the spa town of Buxton are within driving distance. For families and the more adventurous, Alton Towers is only a 5 mile drive away.
Nearby you will find superb walks with Dovedale, the beautiful Manifold Valley, and the popular Manifold Cycle Track, all within easy reach. There are lots of pretty villages to explore one being Hartington where you will find tasty local cheeses in the village cheese shop, also close by there are several pubs serving fantastic home cooked food. The Pump House has been transformed into an amazing holiday home that provides excellent quality, superb furnishings and beautiful views over some of the estate land. The estate itself lies on the Staffordshire/Shropshire borders, providing a good base from which to discover both areas.
Guests are able to explore some of the private grounds of the Hall or the many public footpaths and bridleways that cross the 4000-acre estate (maps provided on arrival). On certain days of the year, the grounds are opened up to the public so they can explore the beautiful Hall, the Capability Brown landscaped Park, Lake and Woodlands.
Attractions nearby include Penkridge Wharf and The Shropshire Union Canal, the RAF Museum at Cosford, The Potteries, Ironbridge Gorge Museum, Dudley Zoological Gardens, Stafford Castle, National Sea Life Centre and the Hoo Farm Animal Kingdom. Birmingham is just 30 minutes’ away, with train services running from Codsall, just 2½ miles away. With the historic towns of Ludlow and Worcester within easy driving distance, it truly is a perfect base.

Converted in 2022, these former stables hold a spectacular rural location surrounded by open countryside. Set in around 12 acres of woodland, this is real country living at its best, but with the convenience of local facilities nearby. Both properties have wood burners taking pride of place for cosy winter months, and for the long summer days the gardens are perfect for simply soaking up the peace and quiet. Further afield the market town of Leek can be reached in a 15-minute drive and offers a lot including a wealth of high street shops and eateries.

The Caldon canal runs close by so is perfect for waterside walks and cycles with maybe a spot of lunch at one of the canal-side pubs on the way. There’s also Rudyard Lake for some water-based activities surrounded by some of the most dramatic scenery to be found in the Staffordshire Moorlands. Thrill-seekers mustn’t miss Britain’s premier theme park Alton Towers which is just a 30-minute drive away, and the location is also just a few miles southwest of the magnificent Peak District National Park. The position is excellent for exploring Staffordshire, Cheshire and Derbyshire and is also just 40 minutes from the fascinating market town of Ashbourne with its abundance of eateries and renowned antique shops.

This cottage, although quaint and cosy is the perfect size for a couples Peak District get-away. As you enter into the property into the sitting room, you are greeted by a warming log burner, along with comfortable seating, Smart TV and a dining table with two chairs. In the kitchen are all the appliances you should require including a dishwasher and free cupboard space to store anything you want to bring with you. On the first floor is the spacious bathroom, featuring bath with overhead shower, and the king-size bedroom with views of the village. Outside there is parking to the rear for one car, and to the front of the property is a small private garden with bistro set to enjoy your morning coffee or evening wine.
The village of Longnor is a great base to be, offering a traditional village atmosphere and beautiful views. The local village pub, only a couple of minutes’ walk away, has recently been refurbished and is opening again in August 2023. Outside of Longnor your nearest town is Buxton offering cafes, many delicious restaurants and great bars, plus the Opera House and Gardens. In the opposite direction is the town of Leek which is great for your high street shops. There is ample walking from your doorstep in Longnor with many trails to explore along with many more activities around you.

Kings Barn is a lovely barn conversion which has been thoughtfully renovated in 2022 by the owner and offers guests space and comfort. Although it has retained some of its traditional features, it also has a modern and contemporary feel. On the ground floor is a living room with comfortable seating, Smart TV and patio doors which lead to the side of the property, a further reception room, again with comfortable seating and a Smart TV, a well-equipped kitchen/dining room and a utility room. Also on the ground floor are two of the bedrooms and the family bathroom. Upstairs are a further three bedrooms, accommodating up to 10 guests. Outside in the courtyard, you will find a garden room/office complete with Wi-Fi.

Cannock Chase, one of England’s finest natural landscapes famous for its scenery, wildlife and rich history, is only half an hour away.
