    Rue Hayes Farm Cottage can be found on the friendly owner’s working farm, set amongst the most glorious countryside on the south western edge of the Peak District National Park. Rue Hayes Farm first appeared in historical records in the mid 17th century, and has become a site of historical interest following the recent discovery of a hoard of over 50 Saxon silver half cross coins on the farm. The hoard has been sent to Birmingham Museum so they can assess their historical importance.

    Magnificent views surround the property, which was completely renovated in 2018, and guests are welcome to walk in the owner’s woodland grounds. A path runs through the farm which leads to walking and exploring direct from the door. Dovedale, the Manifold Valley, and the Manifold Cycle Track are all within easy reach, together with local cycle hire if you don’t want to bring your own bike. After a day spent in the great outdoors you can come back, sit and relax in the bubbling hot tub in true peaceful surroundings with the most beautiful views (bathrobes are provided for those guests hiring the hot tub).
    The small sandstone village of Onecote is about 1½ miles away, whilst the hillside market town of Leek is about 4 miles. Here you will find a charming cobbled market place and a wide selection of shops, restaurants and real ale pubs. Buxton and Ashbourne can both be reached in under half an hour, as can the Three Shires Head, which is the meeting point of the counties of Cheshire, Derbyshire and Staffordshire.     Throwley Cottage has a delightful location in a very rural area, a great spot for some peace and quiet and not to be disturbed. As you arrive there is ample parking and you are greeted by the vast fields that surround this home. The property itself is very traditional with original features and space. On the ground floor is the fully equipped kitchen with everything you need to cook your favourite meals during your stay with a dining table to seat all guests, there is also a back door leading out to the rear garden. The living room has comfortable seating, a TV and an open fire. There is also a shower room located on the ground floor.
    Upstairs there are three bedrooms, made up of a double, a twin and lastly a double bed and single bed in the third bedroom. All rooms have a homely feel to them and have stunning views across the Peak District landscape. There is also a family bathroom on the first floor with a bath and shower attachment.
