    Gretna is located on the outskirts of Longnor, a village nestled within the Peak District hills. Although the bungalow itself is quite rural, you are just a few minutes’ drive into the centre of the village where there is a pub and shop, around 5 miles is the nearest town of Buxton which has many independent shops, cafeé, and a variety of restaurants plus the opera house, which has shows on weekly, and the Pavillion Gardens which are lovely to walk around. There are other towns close to Gretna such as Leek, Ashbourne, Bakewell and the Chatsworth Estate. If you are an avid walker, you will be spoilt for choice, step outside the property and immediately be surrounded by the rolling hills offering endless countryside walks, if you prefer to follow a trail and cycle route you are just a small number of miles from the High Peak Trail which is relatively flat and has pub and ice cream stops on route.
    As you arrive at Gretna you will find ample parking down the driveway for all guests’ cars. There is a private back garden with comfortable furniture to sit on whilst spending the morning planning your exciting day ahead. There is a large living room with enough seating for all guests on the L-shaped sofa, which conveniently faces the Smart TV and wood burner; the views from this room are stunning and far reaching, especially on a clear day. The views can also be seen from the kitchen, which has all the appliances and equipment you should need to cook your favourite meals, and includes a dishwasher to ease clearing up; there is a dining table that can be extended to seat more guests. There are also several National Trust Properties nearby and the Peak Wildlife Park is within 5 miles. If you are more of a thrill seeker, then Alton Towers is a mere 10-mile drive.
    Butterton sits high above the Manifold Valley. From the cottage, you can get straight onto this trail and walk for miles, connecting to other neighbouring trails. Some of the most beautiful scenery in the Peak District is within easy reach. Tissington Trail - popular with walkers and cyclists - is only 5 miles away. The local inn in Butterton is less than a quarter of a mile from the cottage and offers delicious food and ales. The property has been renovated to a high standard in 2023 with sustainable materials and underfloor heating to the ground floor.
    As you drive through Butterton, to get to the cottage you pass through a ford, and from there you can see this inviting and welcoming cottage. There is ample parking outside and the stream runs by creating a relaxing atmosphere as you listen to the sounds of the water whilst enjoying the large garden this property offers. Inside the house is a kitchen with all the appliances and equipment you should need to make your favourite meal, a dining table that seats all guests, and the cute addition of a cushioned window bench; the dining room has patio doors opening it up to the garden, which has great views through fields to the distant hills. As you arrive there is ample parking and you are greeted by the vast fields that surround this home. The property itself is very traditional with original features and space. On the ground floor is the fully equipped kitchen with everything you need to cook your favourite meals during your stay with a dining table to seat all guests, there is also a back door leading out to the rear garden. The living room has comfortable seating, a TV and an open fire. There is also a shower room located on the ground floor.
    Upstairs there are three bedrooms, made up of a double, a twin and lastly a double bed and single bed in the third bedroom.
