Why not visit the Cold War Museum at Bentwaters or the Transport Museum at Ipswich; you could also stop for a drink along the waterfront. Pleasure Wood Hills Theme Park is less than an hour away and offers a great day out for all the family. The Suffolk heritage coastline has great beaches to enjoy. Covehithe Beach is a quieter beach and offers a beautiful stretch of sand, part of the Benacre National Nature Reserve in Suffolk. The waters are calm and great for a swim or paddle. With plentiful nature nearby, you’re bound to see birdlife during your day at the beach.
Explore Southwold, a fantastic Edwardian seaside town with pier, historic lighthouse and high street lined with independent shops and boutiques. RSPB Minsmere and Dunwich Heath offering opportunities for spotting birds and connecting with wildlife, with excellent walks available. For great days out, visit Snape Maltings, Framlingham Castle, Halesworth Museum, Yoxford Antiques Centre and Gardens and Easton Farm Park. A stunningly designed four-piece family bathroom, a double sized bedroom with zip and link bed offering flexible sleeping, an additional bedroom which features a kingsize bed and boasts glorious views of the rear garden.
The first floor offers a master suite with a walk-through dressing area, kingsize bed and en-suite.
Externally there is off road parking for three vehicles and on road parking to the front of the property. The hidden treasure is to the rear which features a tranquil yet pretty herbaceous garden. The Nest is a beautiful, self-contained one-bedroom cottage situated next to the main farmhouse. It can sleep up to three adults or two adults with two children. It’s the perfect location for those wishing to explore the local area and is ideal for those interested in walking and wildlife. The living room is a former conservatory with a cosy roof and has underfloor heating to ensure comfort all year round. The living room has a double sofa bed, TV and dining table. You’ll also find a selection of games and toys to keep you entertained, and books and maps to help you whilst exploring the area. The small but perfectly formed kitchen has everything you need, with a full oven, gas hob, microwave and fridge. You’ll find some of the basics such as cooking oil, salt, pepper etc already in the cupboards. The bedroom features a super kingsize bed, reading lights, built-in wardrobes with a full-length mirror and French doors opening up onto the private garden. It’s a bright and airy room, but once you’ve drawn the curtains and dimmed the lights it’s the ideal place to cosy up with a good book. Just off the bedroom is a large shower room, with a walk-in shower, twin vanity units and toilet. The garden has a seating area, with gas BBQ and a chimnea with views out across the farm fields allowing you to listen to the birdsong.
We’ve made sure you don’t need to pack too heavily, with games, toys for the kids, DVDs, books, picnic blanket, flask, Tupperware, children’s cups, plates and cutlery all provided. We can even lend camping chairs, beach shelters and buckets and spades if needed. Don’t worry we haven’t forgotten your four-legged friend, there’s bowls, blankets, poo bags and a little treat ready for their arrival too.
Located in the heart of Suffolk Coast’s Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, The Nest is the perfect retreat for those wishing to explore the area. Situated discreetly off a private farm track, well away from the busy roads and directly on the Sandlings Walk, it’s ideal for walkers, cyclists and birdwatchers. The Nest is just 1½ miles from Aldeburgh town, which has an array of pubs, cafés, shops and plenty of other facilities. The nearest pubs are in Knodishall and Aldringham, only a 5-minute drive away or can be reached via country footpaths.
Popular places such as Thorpeness, Southwold, Minsmere Nature Reserve, Orford, Woodbridge and Framlingham are all within a 35-minute drive. One (two smaller dogs considered), well-behaved dog is permitted during your stay. Dogs must be kept under control at all times and be cleaned up after. May Cottage is a tastefully renovated cottage on one level in a rural location with contemporary furnishings throughout and a sunny rear garden. Rendham’s traditional village pub, serving local beers and good food, is just steps from the self-catering cottage and the historic village church is across the road. This semi-detached cottage with patio garden is well laid out with the dining room at the heart and the kitchen leading off of it to one side and the living room to the other with a hatch between the two. Situated in the beautiful countryside of Suffolk, this detached former farmhouse is within walking distance to Alton Water, which is spread over 400 acres. The area is perfect for cyclists and walkers to explore the countryside and wildlife. Guests who enjoy water sports can visit the Alton Water Visitor Centre where you will also find a children’s play area, mini golf, café and picnic site. Guests are welcome to bring 2 dogs and the owner thoughtfully provides a a welcome basket, dog beds and a purpose built outdoor kennel with an indoor area so they can be left in a comfortable environment.
