With its shallow waters revealing a vast swathe of sand at low tide, Middleton has long been established as one of the prominent beach destinations on the south coast. Middleton is a low key seaside village offering some essential shops along with a couple of pubs and takeaways and a very good fish and chip shop. There are some lovely restaurants to discover nearby. If you want to explore the area a little further this is a fabulous coastline to stretch your legs east to Climping and Littlehampton’s West Beach or west to Bognor Regis Pagham and Pagham Harbour. This part of the coastline is a haven for unusual birds and wildlife with Pagham Harbour Nature Reserve and Chichester Harbour a little further to the west, both being Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Pagham Harbour is an internationally important site for nature conservation while Chichester Harbour also combines its wildlife attractions with sailing centres such as Itchenor and Bosham.

Just 6 miles north is Arundel, a historic market town dominated by its symbolic castle and the rising spire of the cathedral. It offers a plethora of craft and antique shops as well as restaurants and tea rooms. Arundel Castle is the seat of the Dukes of Norfolk and is set in 40 acres of sweeping grounds and gardens. The castle has been seasonally open to visitors for almost 200 years and is well worth a trip. All around this area the South Downs National Park offers a backdrop of stunning scenery and endless walking routes to explore.

For a family day trip head over to Butlins in Bognor Regis with its brand new indoor and outdoor waterpark Splashworld and a range of entertainment and rides to keep the kids and grown-up kids happy. For some classically British pastimes, there is the famous Goodwood Estate offers a range of activities including a championship golf course and the motor circuit racecourse and aerodrome. Goatchers Cottage and Goatchers Studio are situated in the pretty garden of the owner who lives at the property location and renovated the properties to the highest levels. The properties are located in The South Downs National Park in the pretty village of Findon which is a semi-rural clustered village and civil parish in the Arun District of West Sussex, England, 4 miles north of Worthing.
Located very close to Cissbury Ring which is owned by the National Trust and is designated a Scheduled monument for its Neolithic flint mine and Iron Age hillfort. Cissbury Ring is the largest hill fort in Sussex, the second largest in England and one of the largest in Europe overall, covering some 60 acres. The village has a couple of traditional pubs serving amazing food as well as a few restaurants all within a short walk. If mountain biking is your thing then you are in for a real treat as there are plenty of trails locally that will get the blood pumping.
Brighton is located just over 14 miles to the East and Worthing beach is just 5 miles South and being submerged in The South Down National Park there is plenty of opportunity to explore this beautiful part of the world. Just park up and walk through the gates to the properties where you will find some great hospitality from the owners.
