The lodge has the rare benefit of a large enclosed garden, along with decking and seating area to relax on after a day at the beach, which is walking distance away. Once inside you’re greeted by a very spacious open plan living space, there’s a quality leather corner sofa with oodles of space for all the family to relax and chat about the day. The two bedrooms have been furnished to a high standard to ensure you have a restful nights sleep, with quality mattresses and bedding, and one has its own en-suite toilet with sink.
Here you’re really in the heart of all North Wales has to offer, with lakes, coastal paths, Snowdonia and popular tourist towns all within easy reach. Dinas Dinlle beach is in walking distance from the lodge, with wonderful views across the bay to the Llyn Peninsula and Anglesey. Caernarfon Castle, an imposing UNESCO World Heritage site, is under 8 miles and where Prince Charles took his investiture. Venture just a little further and you have Pwllheli, Criccieth and Porthmadog, home to the Welsh Highland Railway. There’s something for all ages in this diverse region and it would certainly be a break to remember. Beach ½ mile.

This comfortable, detached cottage is set in a secluded location on the smallholding of Erw Goed, which sits peacefully within the Snowdonia National Park. Situated between the beautiful Mawddach Estuary and the foothills of Cadair Idris, just 3 miles from lovely sandy beaches at Fairbourne and Barmouth. The property is accessed by crossing some uneven ground and via a small footbridge over a stream. Guests have sole use of the ½-acre fenced garden with stream running through, there is a camp fire site available for outdoor cooking or camp fires, and guests are also welcome to explore Erw Goed’s 30 acres of gardens and unspoilt woodland and hill with spectacular views over the estuary. You can also meet the livestock including ducks, chickens, bees and sometimes pigs. The Mawddach Trail is easily accessible and the market town of Dolgellau is 6 miles away. Walking, pony trekking, fishing and golf are available locally. Coed-y-Brenin, 10 miles, is a renowned mountain biking centre. Shop, pub and restaurant 3 miles.

Close to the Snowdonia National Park and a 20-minute drive to Snowdon itself, these three spacious, attractive and comfortable barn conversions boast stunning views over beautiful countryside. The holiday cottages (refs. OZ3, OZ4 and OZ5) are located just yards away from the Wales Coast Path, which leads to a lovely pebble backed sandy beach whilst affording wonderful bird watching opportunities on the way. Foryd Bay, where the properties are located, is a designated RSPB Lapwing reserve and a Site of Special Scientific Interest. The Slate Landscape of Northwest Wales has also become the UK’s newest UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2021. Within easy driving distance there are a myriad exciting activities including mountain biking, surfing, sailing, excellent walking, riding and golf. The properties are also conveniently located for Zip World.
Caernarfon, with its magnificent castle, and a fine selection of shops, restaurants and pubs is just 4 miles away, and is also the start of the Welsh Highland Railway for scenic journeys into the heart of Snowdonia. Featuring a double size Jacuzzi bath for two, this ground floor holiday apartment (the owner lives above), is in the historic former slate capital of Wales, Blaenau Ffestiniog. It is within earshot of the little steam engines on the Ffestiniog Railway as they twist and turn on the spectacular journey down to the coast at Porthmadog. Fast becoming an adrenaline junkie’s paradise, Blaenau Ffestinog offers fabulous activities such as Bounce Below where you can bounce on trampoline nets deep underground in an old slate cavern the size of St Paul’s Cathedral, Zipworld Titan where you can try out Europe’s largest zip wire zone, and the Stiniog Downhill Bike Trails – bring your own mountain bike! Surrounded by the Snowdonia National Park, there are some lovely walks from the door, with pretty Betws-y-Coed and Swallow Falls, and the peaceful Llyn Peninsula, both a short car journey away. Ysgubor Uchaf (ref 29517) and Hen Ysgubor (ref 29518) are situated further up along the farm’s private lane. Hen Ysgubor is a ground floor apartment situated below Ysgubor Uchaf which is the first floor apartment. They overlook the beautiful Mawddach Estuary, just off the coastal road to Fairbourne. Both properties are close for the beautiful Mawddach Estuary footpath and coastal trail/cycle path and direct access from the farm leads down to the golden sands of Fairbourne beach or across the Victorian bridge to Barmouth.

If you wish you can just relax, enjoy a spot of fishing nearby, or the more energetic can enjoy family walks in the idyllic scenery in this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in Snowdonia National Park. The family run pony trekking and equestrian centre on-site is just on the north side of the farm with menage (arena) for lessons, and riders and complete beginners are catered for. Set on a working farm, this converted stable is close to Pwllheli and Criccieth. Ideally situated for exploring the Lleyn Peninsula and a 3 mile walk way and cycle path is across the road. It is cosy with modern conveniences and access to the beach (a few minutes’ walk over railway via public crossing). Nearby, are fishing, horse riding along the beach, golf and you can explore the hidden coves. The owner also provides grazing and a field for up to four horses at their property, by prior arrangement and additional cost. Stabling is also available.
