This renovated cottage has been furnished and decorated to a high standard, with views across the lawned garden down to the enclosed private woodland, complete with a footpath through the trees. This is a haven for wildlife and you may see the resident deer at dawn and dusk.

It is within easy driving distance of Whitby and other delights of the Yorkshire coast and the surrounding National Park. This is a walker’s dream, embrace the great outdoors and follow one of the nearby trails, it is located next to the Cinder Track running from Whitby, through Stainsacre to Robin Hood’s Bay, Ravenscar and Scarborough. There is also the Cleveland Way along the coastline and the steam train which winds its way over the heather laced hills of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park, a delight to explore. There are also ancient forests nearby such as Falling Foss with its waterfall and Dalby Forest, with footpaths, bike trails and zip-lining through the tree tops. For equestrians your horse is welcome to join you so that you can enjoy some of the beautiful trails together. It is set at the end of a private lane in a rural location, with long distance views over open countryside to the hills beyond. Ideally located between the Yorkshire Dales National Park and Forest of Bowland, the property is also close to the Pennine Bridleway, Settle Loop and Gisburn Forest mountain bike complex making this an excellent base for active holidays. It overlooks a Site of Special Scientific Interest in the Ribble floodplain, with a wealth of bird life and a bird hide on the Ribble Way. An ideal home for relaxing in and just enjoying your surroundings. The bustling market town of Settle is just 4 miles and offers a wide selection of shops, pubs and restaurants and is home to the famous Settle to Carlisle railway. Patio doors offer views across the countryside as you sit at the table. The spacious living area steeped in rustic charm is stunning to step into; with beams, a comfortable sofa and chairs, and an electric wood burner set in a traditional fireplace, making a warm cosy setting for relaxing in. A window seat set in the recess looks out across the front garden. Through from the living room is a traditional styled room with a table for board games, comfortable armchairs and a bookcase laden with books. Upstairs are two spacious and comfortable bedrooms, one has dual aspect views and the most fabulous feature wall decor, the second has an en-suite shower room. There are attractive gardens to the front and the rear, and the rear lawned garden is a perfect spot to sit and take in the surrounding countryside.
The nearby 3000-acre grounds of Broughton Hall Estate are at your disposal, wander down through the estate and admire the imposing stately home of Broughton Hall itself, or spot wildlife and birds as well as quaint bridges across the river. Within the estate are the Land Rover Experience offices from where experience days are offered (by direct arrangement with the owner) for an exhilarating drive along the land rover track and obstacles on the estate. The purpose built Wellbeing Centre, Avalon at Broughton Hall, is right on your doorstep and offers the perfect way to unwind, be present and connect.
The property sits beside the A59 giving easy access to the popular market town of Skipton where all amenities can be found, including a train station, leisure centre and canal boat trips. The area is peppered with gourmet pubs serving local produce as well as hearty, traditional pub food, and there are a wide variety of restaurants and bars in Skipton to choose from should you wish to treat yourself and dine out during your stay.
The Tour de France and the Tour de Yorkshire have both passed through Skipton and the surrounding countryside in recent years. Why not bring your bike and explore some of the routes for yourself? The quaint village of Grassington with its individual shops and tea rooms is not to be missed, or visit Bolton Abbey for a relaxing afternoon and woodland walks by the River Wharfe. This imposing Edwardian country house stands in its own garden overlooking sheep grazing the common at Goathland, whilst the views of moors and forest may be enjoyed from the west-facing terrace. Set in the village of Goathland, perhaps better known as Aidensfield from the TV series Heartbeat, in the heart of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park, it is in an excellent area for walking – the North Yorks Moors steam railway stops at the village station on its journey from Pickering to Grosmont. Horse riding can also be found nearby.
Whitby being only 9 miles away is a picturesque seaport famous for its Captain Cook connections, where the cobbled streets and yards stand in the shadow of the Abbey, overlooking the harbour. The 3 miles of sandy beaches lead to the pretty coastal village of Sandsend. Robin Hood’s Bay (renowned as a bygone smugglers’ haunt), Runswick Bay and Staithes are all worth a visit. Inland, the moors are scattered with villages, many with excellent inns. Goathland itself offers an excellent choice of inns and restaurants, in addition to local shops, post office and cafés. Set in a stunning rural position within the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, Fell Cottage is a traditional limestone conversion of a former farm building restored to provide a wonderful quaint holiday retreat. The cottage is situated in beautiful Raydale, a rural and unspoilt area of Wensleydale. It is surrounded by traditional farming country and ringed by high fells.
In the distance the dramatic peak of Addleborough can be seen and Lake Semerwater is a pleasant walk away. It is handy for many of the areas famous attractions, including the bustling little market town of Hawes and the pretty villages of Bainbridge and Askrigg, with its pub which was used as the local in the James Herriot series ’All Creatures Great and Small’.
Raydale is a haven for wildlife, with hares and deer often sighted in the surrounding fields at dawn and dusk, along with a wide variety of upland bird life including pheasant, partridge, curlew, duck and of course, Lake Semerwater stocked with a variety of fish. The hamlet of Marsett is set high in the hills above Bainbridge, providing far reaching panoramic views of the dales and fells beyond. Marsett itself has true rustic country charm as cattle and sheep can roam freely on the village green. Horse riding and fishing nearby. Shop, pub and restaurant 3½ miles.

It is surrounded by over 20 acres of its own fields, with breathtaking views across the moorland towards Castleton, which has co-op, tea rooms with part time post office and two pubs. Nearby, the historic town of Bedale, 2½ miles, offers a weekly market every Tuesday and various events during the year, together with a range of individual shops, restaurants and pubs. Masham, renowned for the Black Sheep Brewery, is 10 minutes’ drive and Richmond with its Norman castle, Georgian architecture and thriving theatre is also easily accessible. From the moment you open the bright red door and step into the entrance lobby you will enjoy a warm, welcoming, and homely feel from Cherry Tree Cottage. The stylish living room with ‘living-flame’ gas fire set in a Victorian cast-iron fireplace offers a beautiful space to relax with your party whether reading or enjoying playing games or just watching the Smart TV while lounging on the large comfy sofas and window seats.

A large open-plan kitchen/dining room with window seat, wooden and quarry-tiled flooring, has a stove effect electric fire offering extra warmth if required while sitting at the large table for your hearty meals. There is also a Freeview TV situated in this room. The cream shaker-style kitchen units are packed with all the crockery and utensils you could need to help you rustle up your meals. There is a separate utility room with a washing machine and dryer and an extra fridge just down the hallway along with a downstairs toilet. Upstairs there are three well-appointed rooms. The Master bedroom is a spacious room facing the front of the property with a king size bed and ensuite shower room. The next bedroom offers a four-poster Double bed, also with an ensuite shower, and the final bedroom is a twin-bedded room facing onto the rear garden. The family bathroom with its freestanding claw and ball foot bath and separate shower cubicle completes the property layout.

The comfortable beds are presented with attractive linen over goose feather duvets (alternatives can be provided on request) for an extra luxurious feel along with quality hand and bath sheets. To the rear of the property there is an enclosed picket fenced garden which includes a lawn area and flower beds, along with a stone patio with a large table and chairs to enjoy sitting at while taking in a morning coffee or firing up the barbecue for an al fresco supper. Bellerby is a village situated on the edge of The Yorkshire Dales National Park with a local pub serving a selection of real ales but currently no food and although there is no shop or amenities in the village the lovely market town of Leyburn is just over 1 mile away where an array of individual shops, pubs, cafés, and restaurants are available. If you are looking to get out and stretch your legs, whether walking or cycling, there are abundant established public footpaths, bridleways, and cycle routes available in the local vicinity with spectacular scenery, open countryside, and pretty Yorkshire villages to explore.

Within easy driving distance there is an array of places to visit whether it’s the historic Castle Bolton, Richmond Castle, Jervaulx Abbey or the stunning Aysgarth Falls, there is something to suit everyone’s taste. The children will love Forbidden Corner with its quirky folly garden to explore or for the more adventurous why not visit the theme park, Lightwater Valley.
