    Sunset View is a characterful sandstone conversion from what was once a modest hay store. Newby Farm is tucked away down a long private road, surrounded by rolling fields which the barn looks out on to. This is a great spot for wildlife watchers, with hare, deer and a huge variety of birds all on your doorstep. You have your own parking spaces, as well as a patio where you can soak up the sun, or in the evening you can lie under the stars which light up the night due to the area having little light pollution.
    Stepping inside you have the living/dining room with glass doors bathing the room in light, and comfortable seating around the TV. There is also a drop leaf table and foldaway chairs. The kitchen is modern and well equipped, with everything needed for a self-catering stay. On the ground floor there are also two bedrooms, a double as well as a bunkbed room. The ground floor is completed with the shower room, where you can start and end each day refreshed. Upstairs on the first floor is the second double bedroom. Sunset View is a great choice for families as well as couples and friends.
    The area is a walkers’ delight, with bridle paths and cycle tracks laced over the surrounding countryside. This is a perfect location from which to explore the North Yorkshire Moors National Park and the Heritage Coast of Yorkshire. Just half a mile away is a great garden centre with a café, children’s play area and crazy golf. Great Ayton is just six miles away and is a wonderful place for picnics and feeding the ducks, and the streets are lined with tea rooms and fascinating shops. Captain James Cook was born here and a visit to the museum is a must.
    Pop into the famous Suggits Ice Cream Shop and take a stroll along the river, or drive over the heather clad moors and visit The Moors National Park Centre and quaint little villages tucked away in the valleys. The market town of Guisborough hosts two weekly markets and is home to the ancient priory ruins. The pretty Georgian town of Stokesley has a monthly farmers’ market and an agricultural show in September. Golfers can enjoy a driving range or a round of golf on the 9-hole course, or for the whole family there’s crazy golf, foot golf and the Pinchinthorpe Walkway Centre, a brilliant place for both children and adults. There is also the Middlesbrough Golf Club just one and a half miles away.
    Further afield you can discover Castleton, Hutton-le-Hole, Lealhome, with its picnic areas along the river and Goathland, where the TV series ’Heartbeat’ was filmed. Hop aboard the steam train and take a memorable journey through the glorious Esk Valley to the coastal town of Whitby. Saltburn-by-the-Sea is a traditional Victorian seaside resort with sandy beaches and quaint shops, and you also have Staithes and Runswick Bay nearby to discover. This is a wonderful destination for dogs, but please keep them on a lead as there are sheep in the fields next door. Salty Towers boast many original features, such as the original leaded glass windows which you will pass on the hallway and stepping into the apartment you have towering high ceilings, as well as tall sash windows bathing each room in light. The open plan dining and living room is an ideal social space for unwinding in an evening, with the dining table positioned in the window so that you can enjoy the views out to sea. There is comfortable seating around the TV, and this spacious modern room is incredibly welcoming. The separate kitchen is smart and well equipped, with everything needed to create homemade meals to share. There are two bedrooms, the master is a kingsize bedroom with plenty of storage for your belongings, as well as a twin bedroom. The bathroom boasts a rainforest shower over the bath where you can freshen up after a day on the beach.
    Saltburn is stunning, with a glorious, long sandy beach, an iconic Victorian pier, as well as lots of quirky bars, restaurants and independent shops. Take in the views on a stroll along the promenade, you can travel in style to both the promenade and the pier by using the oldest operating water-balance cliff lift in the country! Saltburn is a surfer’s paradise and no matter what the season, you will see figures out at sea riding the waves.
    Beside the pier you will find a local surf school where you can have lessons and hire equipment so you can join in the fun. On calm days when the sea is smooth you’ll also get paddle-boarders, there’s nothing like taking in the sunset views whilst out on the water. For younger family members they are sure to enjoy splashing in the sea, or flying a kite as they race barefooted along the sand. There are arcades, as well as a popular fish and chip take away and ice cream parlour beside the shore.
    A popular inn along the beach is still famous for its link to pirates and smugglers, and you can get a feel for this as you admire the cliffs that surround the bay, which once had hidden smugglers tunnels. Along the Heritage Coastline there are beautiful beaches, picturesque villages and wonderful scenic walks. Staithes, Whitby, Runswick and Robin Hood’s Bay are all just a short drive away, and for keen walkers, you can follow the Cleveland Way along the cliff tops connecting them all. You are also surrounded by the North York Moors National Park, which has breath taking scenery as well as a network of footpaths and cycle routes. This is a wonderful destination all year round.     The cottage was built back in the 1850s as a home for a local fisherman, by the well-respected Quakers who looked after the mining communities and lived here as this area was known as the Iron Valley. The mines were once the powerhouse of the Industrial Revolution and the British Empire. Dispatching iron worldwide, forming the fabric of railways and bridges across continents around the world. You can visit the local mining museum to find out more about the local history and how it shaped the landscape. Now the area is more popular with holiday makers as well as walkers enjoying the beautiful coastal and moorland trails.
    The village of Skinningrove is undiscovered by most tourists, and is peaceful all year round. It is a quaint little bay, with neighbouring Cattersty Sands just a short walk away.
