Newchurch is set just 7 miles from Hay-on-Wye which is famous for its many book shops and also the Hay Festival which takes place in May, attracting visitors from all over the world. With Hay-on-Wye and Kington Town being close by there are plenty of pubs and restaurants to enjoy, including many country pubs dotted along the England/Wales border. For those looking for a more active break, Offas Dyke Path passes right by the front door and offers stunning walks through the beautiful countryside. Nearby there is horse riding and canoeing. Glan Y Nant is a static caravan set in its own garden overlooking a stream and fields. It is just off the A44, a main route into Wales from Herefordshire, and is located in a rural area surrounded by wildlife and scenic views, however, you may hear the passing traffic. It is a good base for hikers, dog owners, cyclists, artists, photographers and nature lovers.
It is ideally situated to visit the Welsh towns of Presteigne, Knighton, Builth Wells (Royal Welsh Showground 11 miles away), Llandrindod Wells or to follow the Black and White village trail through pretty Herefordshire. It is also suitable as a base for the Hay-on-Wye Book Festival and Brecon Jazz Festival. If after a day of exploring you want to eat out there are pubs in Knighton, Presteigne, Titley and Kington.
There are three steps to enter the caravan, and once inside you will find a well-equipped kitchen and a welcoming open-plan living room with a separate dining area. Hidden below one of the bench-style sofas is a sprung sofa bed. The living area has an electric fire that enhances the cosy ambience. There is a double bedroom with an en-suite toilet with a sink and heated towel rail. The single bedroom is next to the family bathroom which has a shower cubicle, heated towel rail, toilet and sink. Outside there is a large patio with a bench overlooking the stream. There are recliners and a dining table set for al fresco meals or just sit on the bench to enjoy the surrounding natural beauty. The enclosed lawn at one end provides space for dogs to play safely and walks on the farmland can be arranged. Playing in the stream is a favourite and there is a bird hide on the farm where you can see numerous birds on feeders both resident and seasonal. There are plenty of walks to be had from the property; it is 6 miles to the historic town of Brecon with its array of coffee shops, small local independent shops, and art galleries. This beautiful end terrace period holiday property is situated in the centre of the popular border town of Hay-on-Wye and within walking distance of its amenities. World renowned for books and bookshops and its literary festival, it also has a renovated castle, traditional markets with local produce, art galleries, antique and independent shops, great gastro pubs, restaurants and cafés. There is much on offer in the great outdoors with fishing, horse riding, cycle and canoe hire all available locally. Wonderful walking area with two long distance footpaths, namely Offa’s Dyke Path and the Wye Valley Walk, both with stunning scenery of the beautiful border country. Brecon, Builth Wells and the cathedral city of Hereford are all within easy driving. You’ll find a small children’s play park within walking distance as well as stunning riverside walks, close to the riverside beach, The Warren. Just a stone’s throw away is Lake Vyrnwy, a Victorian dam constructed in the 1880s in the Vyrnwy Valley to supply fresh water to Liverpool. Experience the walks and trails of the 24,000-acre RSPB Reserve, with viewpoints and hides around the lake to observe the amazing variety of birds and scenery. There are plenty of activities too, including boating, adventure activities, cycle hire, walking and horse trails. There are local craft shops to visit and excellent places to eat.

Oswestry, renowned for its bustling market, independent shops and café culture, is a great place to enjoy a day out and only a 20-minute drive away. Further afield lies Ellesmere, the town is quiet and quite charming. Shopping is traditional with independent shops and a market, and you can stroll from mere to town and then to the wharfage and out along the canal towpaths. Bryn Teg is a spacious lodge in the heart of Mid Wales, situated near the entrance of the Caer Beris Estate. All on the ground floor, it offers a large open-plan living space; the living area has a two-seater sofa, a three-seater sofa bed, an electric wood burner, a Smart TV with Sky package and patio doors leading to the rear decked area. The dining area has a large dining table able to seat six, and the well-equipped kitchen area has a separate island with a breakfast bar. The master bedroom features a walk-in wardrobe, chest of drawers, dressing table and an en-suite shower room. There is also a further bedroom complete with single bed and single fold-out bed, a large double wardrobe, and a bathroom with a shower over the bath. A utility room, with back door access, completes the accommodation.
The decked area to the rear has upholstered seating and table and chairs, as well as a gas barbecue for al fresco dining whilst enjoying uninterrupted views over the rolling countryside. A variety of wildlife can be seen from the decked area, including red kites, rabbits and a local pheasant complete with wives. Sheep and cattle graze in the nearest field.
The setting is beautifully rural, yet only a mile away from the town of Builth Wells. The town can be reached by car or a pleasant 20 minutes’ walk across the river, past the imposing Caer Beris Hotel and then alongside the tree lined walk along the River Wye into Builth.
Activities nearby include fishing, golf, pony trekking, walking, bike trails and swimming at Builth Swimming Pool. The Royal Welsh Showground is home to the international Royal Welsh Show held in July and the spring and winter. The site also hosts dog shows and antique fairs throughout the year. Brecon Beacons National Park and spectacular Black Mountains are also within easy reach.

The property consists of a sweeping driveway and as you go through the front door, you have a large living room with a wood burning stove and Smart TV leading to a games room with bar area and a separate children’s playroom. There are many local attractions all within a short car journey, including National Trust properties such as Powis Castle, Attingham Park estate in the medieval town of Shrewsbury and Chirk Castle. Offas Dyke, Glyndwr Way and the River Severn are also close by. The market towns of Oswestry and Welshpool are within a short drive. Chester is a 1½ hours away and Shrewsbury is just 30 minutes’ away by car. All offer a large array of shops and restaurants for guests to enjoy. For the more active guests, there is a great selection of walks, such as the Llanymynech Rocks nature reserve, or for those looking for longer walks, the Shropshire Hills is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty all well worth a visit. Please do not charge Electric Vehicles at the property - there is Tesco’s within a couple miles which has charging points, alongside the main car park which has charging points for you to use.
