Cotswold Water Park is within easy reach and Broadway, Stow-on-the-Wold, Burford, Bibury and Oxford are all well worth a visit as are Lacock Abbey and Dyrham Park (NT). Swindon’s famous railway museum and outlet shopping are 20 miles.

This attractive, detached, single-storey holiday cottage stands on the banks of the trout-filled River Avon. Occasional dry fly fishing can be arranged with prior arrangement with the owner. There will be an additional charge for this.

The surrounding area is full of picturesque villages, and across the river is the 16th-century Heale House with 8 acres of beautiful gardens. Oakfield is a wonderful house that offers ideal accommodation for families or friends to use as a relaxed weekend bolthole, but is also ideally located to use as a base for a longer stay from which to explore this wonderful part of Wiltshire. The impressive Neolithic stones of Stonehenge are a short drive away as is the stunning Cathedral City of Salisbury and is well worth a visit with a fabulous selection of independent shops, pubs and eateries and of course the impressive cathedral. For the perfect family trip Longleat House and Safari Park is just half an hour’s drive away and is certain to impress guests of all ages. This attractive barn is attached to the owner’s home with its own garden and patio area with wonderful views towards the village and the surrounding countryside. It has a stair lift and a disability aid to help less mobile guests to access the bath. The holiday property enjoys a peaceful location in the small, picturesque village of Fonthill Bishop, where a tranquil river flows to a beautiful lake on the historically fascinating Fonthill Estate. For rambling, horse riding and cycling there is a good network of bridle and footpaths in the area. A truly rural spot, yet just one mile from the A303 and easy access to the many sights and attractions within the area including Stonehenge with its mystical stone circle, Avebury stone circle and Salisbury with its cathedral. The shopping town of Shaftesbury is within 20 minutes, where visitors flock to see the famous cobbled ‘Gold Hill’. The small towns of Tisbury and Hindon have local amenities and good pubs, both within 2 miles. The seaside resort of Bournemouth is just 40 miles, and the New Forest within an easy drive.
