Cheshire Oaks retail outlet village is a short drive away. At the end of the lane is the Beachin therapy swimming pool for dogs. Malpas, with its magpie style houses, Beeston with its castle, Tattenhall where the Cheshire Farm Dairy ice cream is made and Farndon which links Cheshire to Wales by a sandstone bridge are all an easy drive. At the top end of Kelsall Hill is Delamere Forest which is a paradise for nature enthusiasts. Take your furry friend for a leisurely stroll along the picturesque trails, enjoy a picnic amidst the towering trees, or indulge in some outdoor activities such as Go Ape, segways, cycling or horseback riding. Treat yourself to a delightful experience at Cheshire Ice Cream Farm, a popular family attraction and just a 20-minute drive away. Besides their delicious ice cream, the farm offers various activities for all ages, including an adventure play park, farm animals to meet, and scenic walking trails.
You can embark on a historical adventure by visiting Beeston Castle - again around 20 minutes away. Here you can explore the medieval ruins, marvel at panoramic views from the hilltop, and enjoy a peaceful walk through the surrounding woodlands. The castles of Cholmondley and Peckferton are also easily accessible and the Sandstone Trail can be picked up locally. Blackhill Gate Cottage is set in an unrivalled rural location offering superb panoramic countryside views across the stunning scenery of the Peak District National Park. Crossing the Derbyshire and Cheshire boundary on the outskirts of the pretty Peak District village of Kettleshulme, this holiday cottage is located next to a field which at times is home to nursery lambs, and offers fine walking direct from the door through the valley of Todd Brook, Bowstones, Taxal Edge and into the Goyt Valley. Kettleshulme itself is home to a 15th century country pub which offers a warm welcome and freshly cooked meals. The town of Whaley Bridge with its mix of shops, bars and restaurants plus train station with direct service to both Manchester and Buxton is a 5 minute drive. The National Trust Lyme Park with its glorious house and gardens can be reached on foot or by car and the magnificent historic houses of Chatsworth, Haddon Hall and the popular market town of Bakewell, 45 minute’s drive. A variety of Peak District villages are all easily reachable within half an hour’s drive including Edale, Tideswell and Castleton, and great days out for the family within an hour’s drive include the local Chestnut Centre Wildlife Park, Carsington Water, Matlock Bath with is cable car and the UK’s premier theme park Alton Towers. Shop 2½ miles, pub and restaurant 1 mile.

This detached barn, situated in the five-acre grounds of the owners’ home, is a short drive from the National Trust Tatton Park. As you enter the open plan living space filled with oak beams, you are greeted by a warm welcoming living area. If it’s a lovely sunny day, why not open the patio doors to the large, manicured gardens and sit and watch the world go by? The modern kitchen area is perfect for cooking up a storm and entertaining friends or family. Upstairs there are three bedrooms (one king sized, two double beds), beams and vaulted ceilings and a separate bathroom. Outside is a beautiful lawned garden made for al fresco dining or cooking a fabulous barbecue. Alternatively, there are many beautiful country walks to try, one of which begins at the property.
Wee Bridge Farm Cottage is situated in the village of Mobberley which has six wonderful country pubs, a farm shop, a bakery, a selection of other shops and its own train station. It is a great base to explore the area. The quaint town of Knutsford is only a five-minute drive away and has antique and specialist shops as well as many restaurants. Wilmslow, Alderley Edge, Altrincham, and Hale are also close by.
Or head to iconic Manchester about 30 minutes away which has many attractions including Legoland discovery centre, various museums and art galleries and, of course, Old Trafford (football and cricket) and the Etihad Stadium. Liverpool is less than an hour’s drive away and is the birthplace of the Beatles.

Offering a rural experience, Drumble Lodge can be found at the end of a winding country lane on a working farm amidst beautiful Cheshire countryside. The location is peaceful and serene, where you can enjoy the sounds of bird song throughout the day and the distinctive calls of owls at night. The farm on which the lodge stands has been registered as a wedding venue and will accommodate smaller weddings. Pet sheep and goats that meander around the paddock next to the lodge, and in the distance, you’ll see cows grazing in the meadow. Despite the rural setting, the property has Sky Link Wi-Fi with 200 megabites per second.
A selection of outdoor seating areas are available where you can relax, unwind and once the sun sets gaze at the stars beyond through the telescope provided. A traditional dog friendly, food serving pub is a mere 10-minute walk, and ample footpaths radiate from the area just waiting to be explored. The pretty market town of Congleton can be reached in around 10 minutes and is home to ample amenities including a selection of supermarkets and shops together with many bars and restaurants.
The National Trusts Biddulph Grange Country Park and Little Moreton Hall are also accessible in around a 10-minute drive. You can take a waterside stroll along the River Dane, cycle the tranquil traffic free Biddulph Valley Way, or walk to the famous atmospheric ruins of Mow Cop Castle and lesser-known Old Man of Mow.
The Peak District National Park is around a 30-minute drive and the city of Manchester can be reached in under an hour on a direct train from Congleton station. For those with children Delamere Forest, Manley Mere and Britain’s premier theme park Alton Towers can be reached in around 45 minutes and then finally the city of Chester, Blue Planet Aquarium and Chester Zoo in around an hour.
