    Welcome to The Cowshed, an enchanting place in which to relax, recharge and reinvigorate. Settled within beautiful countryside, where woodland valleys and meandering streams are plentiful, your holiday home has been expertly created to make both a welcoming and inviting holiday destination. It is situated in a 2-acre paddock with a garden surrounding the accommodation. It offers a bright and airy open plan living area, with sofas to sink into, an HDTV and a wood burner for those chilly evenings. There is also a dining area seating four and a superbly equipped kitchen. The Cowshed has an impressive tall ceiling – a real woodland retreat! The bedroom has kingsize bed, the ideal escape for a peaceful sleep after a day of exploring the area and its many attractions. There is an en-suite shower room plus a further sleeping area in the open plan living space for two more guests with another shower room and toilet. The sleeping arrangement can be made up as two single beds or zipped together to make another comfortable kingsized bed. It has a privacy screen to separate it from the living spaces. Step out through your patio doors to a private decking area, with furniture, umbrella, and a Cadac gas barbeque and your very own private hot tub. There is also a fire pit area where you can grill over wood fired coals and sit and relax with a glass of wine.
    Because the area benefits from unpolluted night skies, when the sun has gone down for the day, sit back, breathe and take in the heavens, the magical Milky way spiralling above you. Bring your wellies as there is a short walk across the field to the accommodation. There is a luggage trolley to make this easy.
    Venture further afield and you will find many places of interest right on your doorstep. To the south, a short drive takes you to coastal Looe and Polperro or Cawsand and Kingsand- all steeped in history with tales of smuggling and wrecking, their narrow streets revealing an array of restaurants and shops and beautiful cottages too. The beaches on this part of the coast are numerous and offer coves, inlets and low-tide rockpools – perfect for children of all ages to explore! The beautiful towns of Liskeard and Tavistock have many amenities and superb architecture and are well worth a visit.
    Take the train from Liskeard railway station, all the way to Plymouth, where spectacular scenery unrolls before you as you pass through the Tamar Valley, an area of natural beauty. This vibrant historic naval city has marinas, the famous Hoe, The National Marine Aquarium and the Barbican’s cobbled quayside. The National Park of Dartmoor and Bodmin Moor have breath-taking views and offer tranquillity amid a mixture of rolling hills, mystical rock formations, Neolithic stone circles and million shades of green foliage and endless walks and trails.

    These pet friendly holiday barns are situated less than half a mile from the stunning north coast of Cornwall. The access is via a typical Cornish narrow road with beautiful scenic views of the sea peeping out through the hedgerow on approach.

    In the heart of this small Cornish hamlet, the barns (refs 30108, 30109, 30110 and 30111) are furnished and fitted to provide a comfortable base from which to explore the many attractions that Cornwall has to offer.
    Each barn has a well-equipped kitchen as well as open-plan living. Each has its own sitting-out area, which is ideal for watching the wildlife and al fresco dining. Each property also has access to electric car charging points which a charge for use however if you require using the charging points you must bring your own lead. This barn has the private use of a hot tub, but please note the first night the temperature may not of quite reached it’s optimal temperature due to the replenishment of fresh water post cleaning the tub.
    There are no local amenities as it is in a hamlet, but only a 5 minute car journey to the local village; we suggest you look at the welcome folder in the cottage to familiarise yourself to your surroundings and to discover what amenities are local to your stay. Guests are close to the coastal path and if you walk north, you will reach Tintagel, the mythical home of King Arthur, with its array of shops, pubs and restaurants. A little further on, Boscastle with its picturesque harbour is a must. A small beach can be reached on foot, approximately ½ mile away. Travelling down the coast, guests will come to Port Isaac, where the TV series ’Doc Martin’ is filmed, and further down the coast, visit the beautiful sandy surfing beach at Polzeath and the dunes at Rock where you can take a ferry across to Padstow. From Padstow, with its working harbour, shops, pubs and restaurants, you can hire bikes and cycle the Camel Trail to Wadebridge and beyond to Bodmin.
    Close by is Bodmin Moor, unspoilt moorland at its best, and for walkers the tors on the moor are a must. Further down the coast is Newquay, with its famous surfing beaches, Blue Reef Aquarium and Zoo and if you travel to the south coast, you will find Looe, Fowey and Mevagissey, just a few of the charming coastal villages. For cycling enthusiasts, there is a cycle hub at Lanhydrock, with some wonderful forest routes to be taken. Shop, pub and restaurant 2½ miles.

The fishing village of Mousehole is 6 miles with its small sandy beach area, pretty harbour, narrow twisting streets lined with excellent restaurants and pubs, or slightly further is St Ives, 12 miles. Penzance is also worth a visit, with its wealth of amenities including museums, fishing, golf, tennis and horse riding, as well as day trips to the Isles of Scilly. St Michael’s Mount at Marazion is a further 3 miles from Penzance. There is easy access to spectacular walks in the surrounding countryside and the coastal path to Cape Cornwall in one direction and Land’s End in the other. For cultural enthusiasts the St Ives Tate Gallery is on offer or the open air Minack Theatre at Porthcurno. The area has a number of golf courses, watersports, cycle hire and sub-tropical gardens to explore. Shop and pub 3 miles.

To the north of the property, the fishing village of Padstow, with its numerous restaurants (local seafood is a speciality), is easily accessible. Also available is bike hire (the famous Camel Trail), fishing trips and diving. Newquay, with its excellent surfing beaches, is approximately 12 miles away. On the south coast, the ancient fishing port of Fowey is within 10 miles and was home to Daphne Du Maurier. Fowey has many events throughout the year, such as the Du Maurier festival and the Fowey Royal Regatta. It is also home to many galleries, pubs, restaurants and shops. Sea fishing, sailing and diving trips are available locally. Bodmin Moor is also close by and provides an excellent location for horse riding, walking and mountain biking. The Lost Gardens of Heligan, Lanhydrock House, Restormel Castle and Crealy Adventure Park are all within an easy drive. Beach 6 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile.
