The property is located near Padstow, a jewel in the crown for Cornwall, with its many attractions such as the pretty, quaint working harbour surrounded by meandering lanes full of local shops, bars, restaurants, and cafés. The working harbour provides sea fishing and sightseeing trips along the coast and along the River Camel which flows inland towards the market town of Wadebridge. Many of the cafés and restaurants are owned by the TV chef Rick Stein including a patisserie, deli, and cookery school where you can book lessons. The River Camel is a tidal estuary that flows inland from Padstow and has a flat, multi-use walking, cycling, and horse-riding trail that hugs the shoreline. You can hire bikes all along the trail and enjoy the ride. A favourite with the locals is to hire a bike in Wadebridge and cycle towards the sea and enjoy fish and chips from Rick Stein’s chippy before heading back.

    Port Isaac, the setting and the location of TVs Doc Martin, is a great place to visit, and you may even see the stars filming the latest series. Newquay, home to the UK’s Surf Industry, is within minutes, and the many excellent beaches that the town is famous for provide all you need from hire to lessons. The town also has a zoo, cinema, and trampoline centre (coming in 2019). This area is also abundant with golf courses from Trevose, The Point, St Enedoc, and Merlin, all within a short drive. The Eden Project, Tintagel Castle, and the Lost Gardens of Heligan are all nearby and easily reached. Horse riding, sailing, walking, and health spas are all available locally. Beach 2¾ miles. There is parking for one car on a private driveway and additional roadside parking.
    Padstow, renowned for its super seafood restaurants, many with celebrity chef status, is a thriving harbour town, with narrow streets and harbour a hive of activity. Cafes, boutique shops and art galleries sit side by side with restaurants and pubs. Hire a bicycle here and follow the Camel Trail, 18 miles of a mainly flat pathway, as it threads its way through woodland, revealing scenic views. The trail leads to Wadebridge, an ancient town with many amenities and on to Bodmin, where it’s mysterious and atmospheric moor of the same name boasts strange rock formations and views so spectacular. The Eden Project, a world beneath huge Biomes is a unique experience, whilst the exquisite Lost Garden of Heligan are both peaceful and truly beautiful. The beaches in this area have broad expanses of golden sand, rockpools for all ages to enjoy and coves long associated with the legends and tales of smuggling!
