Little Trevarrack is a wonderful 18th-century traditional Cornish cottage, situated along a rural and tranquil country lane leading from Carbis Bay to St Ives.
This cottage is full of character and has stunning views across the countryside, and is ideally located for the lovely sandy beach at Carbis Bay. You are also close to St Ives with its cobbled streets and art galleries, including the Tate Modern. A choice of shops, cafés, bars and restaurants are within easy reach, as are the harbour and surfing beaches. There is a local rail link from St Erth station to St Ives, along the picturesque coastal line, or you can enjoy the gentle walk whilst enjoying the views along the way. From Little Travarrack you can explore the magnificent West Cornwall coast including Land’s End, Marazion, St Michael’s Mount, Mousehole, Cape Cornwall and the Lizard Peninsula. There are a huge amount of places of interest further afield such as Padstow, Port Isaac, The Eden Project and The Lost Gardens of Heligan, that can all be reached easily by car. Welcome to Mor Kernow meaning Cornish Sea, a two-storey maisonette in the centre of the popular town of St Ives, situated in an elevated position it has amazing views of one of England’s most beautiful seaside towns. It comfortably accommodates up to eight guests with original features such as a beautiful fireplace and high ceilings making it feel spacious and light. The owner has tastefully furnished the property with pops of bright colour to add a modern touch.
The modern light kitchen is well equipped, whether it is just for breakfast or cooking for a family. Doors lead out to the seating area and garden where you can enjoy al fresco dining, morning coffee or an evening glass of wine, whilst taking in the magnificent sunsets and magical night skies. There is one double bedroom on the ground floor and the others are on the first floor. The living/dining area on the first floor has stunning views facing the sea and the town. The large comfy sofas are ideal for relaxing, watching TV or talking, or if you just want to sit and enjoy the view, choose one of the armchairs in the large panoramic bay window.
This location is popular with visitors all year round. You can walk everywhere, lots of steps will get you fit, and there are four beaches, each within a 10-minute walk. Perfect for travelling without a car as the beachside train station is just ½ mile away or a short cab ride away. The short walk into town has an abundance of cafés, restaurants and pubs so you will be spoilt for choice, you can eat somewhere different every day. Boutique shops and art galleries sit next to surf shops and gift shops. This is a popular location for artists and The Barbara Hepworth Museum and Tate Gallery are both well worth a visit. The harbour is always bustling and is a great place to people watch whilst you’re having a drink or a meal.
If you want to travel, catch an open top bus to Lands’ End. Enjoy the beautiful scenery on route, you can pop on and off so an ideal way to explore the area. Other popular destinations are Marazion and Zennor as well as the most westerly town of Penzance. There is so much to do in the area you will be booking a return holiday very quickly. Beach ½ mile. The property features a split level, open plan living and dining area, each with bi-fold doors opening out onto patio areas, affording stunning sea views, with gardens front and back. Dog friendly, this is the perfect place from which to explore this unique part of Cornwall.
The house is tastefully furnished and comfortable all year round with a wood burner and central heating. Standing on the headland above the picturesque village of Port Gaverne, the house is a few steps from the north Cornwall coastal path. The beach at Port Gaverne is a 6-7 minute walk away and a little further is Port Isaac, with its huddle of slate houses and narrow alleyways.
The state-of-the-art kitchen is great for catering and cooking the fresh local produce. There are two excellent fish shops in Port Isaac that sell their daily catch of fish and shellfish; specialities are crab and lobster.
Local lamb, beef and pork are all available at the nearby farm shop, which has wonderful views overlooking the sea.
Famous now as the setting for the TV series ’Doc Martin’, Port Isaac is a working fishing village with shops, bars and several top-quality restaurants.
This area is now renowned as a ’foodie paradise’, with several celebrity chefs located here and the area is very well served by a whole variety of dining places to fit every pocket.
Close by is a hotel and next door is a bistro, which has indoor and outdoor dining. There are two Michelin starred restaurants in Port Isaac run by Nathan Outlaw. Nearby in Padstow is Paul Ainsworth’s Michelin starred restaurant and he has a great pub too. Rick Stein’s Seafood Restaurant and Cookery School are in Padstow. Rick Stein also has a number of other restaurants with varying price ranges.
This is an ideal spot for those who enjoy coastal walks, bird watching, golf, fishing, surfing, sailing, kayaking, cycling or just lazing on the beach. Polzeath’s famous surf attracts all comers, and its glorious sandy beach is just a short drive away. The cliffs, caves and rock pools are a children’s paradise.
Within an easy drive are Padstow, Tintagel, Boscastle, Bude and Wadebridge.
Wadebridge hosts one end of the Camel Trail, with a 5-mile dedicated cycle ride to Padstow on the old railway track, alongside the picturesque Camel Estuary. To the north stands Tintagel’s medieval castle and the quaint fishing village of Boscastle, with Crackington Haven and Bude a little further on. Inland lies Jamaica Inn and Bodmin Moor, the setting for the ’Poldark’ stories.
A few minutes’ walk away is a water sports centre, Cornish Rock Tors, based on the beach at Port Gaverne. They offer kayaking, paddle boarding and coasteering for individuals and groups. Polzeath’s famous surf attracts all comers, and its glorious sandy beach is just a short drive away. Water sports can be enjoyed at Rock, from where a passenger ferry crosses the Camel Estuary to the town of Padstow. Daymer Bay has another glorious sandy beach, and the golf course at St Enodoc is open to the public. John Betjeman, the late Poet Laureate, is buried at St Enodoc Church, with its twisted spire.

Mews Cottage is a beautifully presented two-bedroom, semi-detached holiday home set in the heart of Tintagel on the Northern Cornish coast. It is an original Cornish stone and slate dwelling. Whilst being within a few seconds walk on a private walk way to the hustle and bustle of Tintagel Village, you can still enjoy the peaceful serenity that Mews Cottage offers being in a small secluded area from the village. Mews has a free parking permit available which is provided by the owners.
The historical cottage, built around the 1890’s and was a former stables for a local Inn, feels bright and stylish whilst maintaining the rustic feel of the property. After an action-packed day exploring the coast, enter into the kitchen/dining area where you will find everything you need to enjoy a self-catered break. Head into the spacious lounge where you can unwind on the comfortable seating, watch a film on the smart TV whilst enjoying the glows of the electric wood burner in the background. This warm and light room has double doors which lead into the enclosed courtyard area which can create a fresh and airy feel throughout the entire day. Perfect for enjoying the warm Cornish evenings or a morning coffee. An absolute sun trap. Upstairs are two cosy bedrooms, wonderfully presented with high apexed ceilings displaying exposed wooden beams. The master bedroom offers a kingsize bed and next door is the light and airy twin bedroom. A shower room with heated towel rail completes the picture. Enjoy the fantasitic span of the countryside and a distant sea view.
Mews Cottage is just a few steps from the main street, with a variety of shops, pubs, restaurants and Tintagel Castle, the mythical home of King Arthur. There is also a good bus serivce in Tintagel so you have the option of leaving the car. The coast is within a 10-minute walk and the nearest beach at Bossiney Cove is just 1.3 miles away or a 25-minute walk across the fields. Within easy reach are the coastal villages of Boscastle and Port Isaac, the latter made famous by the TV series, ’Doc Martin’. Further along the coast are the golden, sandy beaches of Rock and Polzeath. Plenty of walking and local paths perfect for the family, and prime dog walking places on the doorstep of Mews Cottage. Trebarwith Strand a 10 minutes drive is a perfect beach for this, dog friendly all year round, but is also accessable via the coastal path past St Materiana’s church.
