    Cheviot View is a charming terraced cottage over two floors. On the ground floor the bright and airy living room is ideal all year round with a multi-fuel burner for chilly evenings and French doors opening to the sunny south facing patio and garden for those other warmer, sunny days. The spacious well-equipped kitchen/dining room is ideal for families having the typical ‘light hearted family debates’ over meals or that essential game of monopoly that we all secretly love. All the appliances in the well-appointed kitchen are those you’d expect in a property of such standards, including a washing machine for those muddy clothes or rinsing out sailing gear. The recently added downstairs toilet provides additional convenience. Upstairs you’ll find three comfortable and well presented bedrooms. One has a double bed with stunning views of the hills, one with twin beds and one single. The bathroom is also upstairs and has a suite with over bath shower. Outside, the gardens include a sunny south facing garden which is ideal for children or just enjoying the pleasant atmosphere, and another garden to the rear, looking to the Borders. The pretty, historic town of Morpeth is only 7½ miles away, with a fine selection of shops and pubs. The town of Amble, with its great Sunday market, is only 13 miles and has a working harbour, whilst Newcastle is 18 miles. Kielder Water, situated in the Northumberland International Dark Sky Park, is 53 miles away. Other places of interest to visit include Alnwick Castle and its gardens, 25 miles, Hadrian’s Wall, 45 miles, the Farne Islands and Holy Island.     Set on a quiet side street of this friendly little seaside village, Sanderlings is an ideal retreat for up to five people. Only a few hundred yards walk down to the seafront and beach and close to the golf course this comfortable family style home has all you need for that well deserved break by the seaside. With a large kitchen/diner area and separate living room. Newbiggin by the sea still has a few fishing boats and the lifeboat station is one of the oldest in England. The beach sweeps around the bay with the Church Point at one end with a lovely cliff top walk looking over the sea. The promenade is almost a mile long, a nice flat stroll on an evening or in the mornings to blow away the cobwebs. Set in the centre of the promenade is a wonderful Italian ice cream parlour popular with locals and visitors set on the piazza where you may be lucky to see live music on the bandstand in the summer.
    The village has all you need with an excellent bakery, takeaways, pubs, fruit shop and a good size supermarket. Travel over to Creswell and Druridge Bay for miles of unspoilt coast then head up onto the heritage coastal route and discover the castles and sites that make Northumberland Special. Day trips can be taken in all directions, a popular attraction is Hadrian’s Wall over to the west, stop off at a Roman Fort en-route. Holy Island is North and home to the Lindisfarne Gospels (check the tides) reached by a causeway, steeped in history it shouldn’t be missed whilst in the area. The pretty market town of Morpeth is only 8 miles with lots of excellent restaurants, bars and shops with an Edwardian Shopping Arcade. Head south to Tynemouth and Whitley Bay and walk along the vast promenade with plenty to see and do, children may enjoy the Sealife centre. Newbiggin by the sea is popular with surfers and paddle boarders as well as great sea fishing, and rock pooling whilst admiring the only east coast off shore sculpture set in the sea “The Couple” designed by Sean Henry.
