Eden Grove is elegantly furnished and boasts a large, enclosed walled garden. The elegant décor and furnishings are visible from the moment you walk through the door. There are four sumptuously furnished bedrooms, all decorated with your comfort in mind, two of which have beautiful en-suite facilities. There is also a large family bathroom with double sinks, a shower and a roll-top bath.

Quietly situated in this small farming village of Wiggonby, this semi-detached house is within easy reach of both Wigton and Carlisle, making it an ideal base to relax in or visit the many attractions nearby, with Watchtree nature reserve next to village. The Lake District National Park is within a 30-minute drive giving you access to the many fells for which the area is famous. If something more relaxing is what you are after, then why not take a boat trip on Derwentwater or Lake Windermere and sit back and enjoy the view? If you prefer the coastline, a 30-minute drive will take you to Allonby beach, a superb, long sandy beach in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the Solway Coast, with spectacular views across the Solway Firth to the mountains of southern Scotland. The Coach House is a superbly equipped barn conversion situated on the edge of the delightful market town of Brampton. This quirky semi-detached property has an upside down layout with the spacious living/kitchen/dining area on the first floor. Everything has been thought of to ensure you have a relaxing stay, from the sumptuous beds with M&S feather pillows and duvet, and luxurious toiletries, to the cosy gas fire and large TV with over 200 DVDs in the sitting room, home from home in every sense of the word. The dining area has a 6-seater oak table as well as a selection of books. In 2018 the property was given a VisitEngland award of excellence. The awards celebrate the very best in English tourism, championing excellence in best practice and customer service. The property is decorated with a Christmas theme during the festive season, and also boasts convenient off road private parking for 2 cars on the drive in front of the barn gate.

Take a stroll into the centre of town and sample the many good restaurants and pubs. A must is a trip to Talkin Tarn Country Park, 2 miles from Brampton with its 65-acre lake set amidst 120 acres of farmland and woodland. The Tarn is an ideal place for recreation or a quiet stroll through the mature woodlands. No stay in Cumbria is complete without visiting Hadrian’s Wall, the most important monument built by the Romans in Britain. It stretches 73 miles from Wallsend, Newcastle across the neck of England to the Solway in north west Cumbria. Within Cumbria are Banks Turret, near Brampton and Birdoswald Roman Fort a few miles away. Rivendell is a lovely home from home situated in the small hamlet of Beaumont on the Roman Wall walk; the perfect place from which to base yourself to discover and explore this unspoilt area of Cumbria. Rivendell has been refurbished in 2023 and is delightful.
On the ground floor, the large living room is bright and spacious with French doors leading to the garden. Also on the ground floor is the dining room which opens up from the living room, a very well-equipped kitchen with all the mod cons to make your stay here enjoyable, and a cloakroom with toilet. Upstairs there are three bedrooms complemented by super comfy beds and all making the most of the lovely views out towards the Cumbrian fells in the distance. A family bathroom with spa bath and separate shower cubicle are also on the first floor.
Rivendell certainly will make your holiday here in Cumbria memorable. Beaumont is a small hamlet in rural Cumbria just 4 miles west of the historic city of Carlisle and convenient for visits to Scotland, the Lake District National Park, the Solway Plain, the Pennines, Northumbria and of course the historic Hadrian’s Wall Trail is on your doorstep. There are numerous local rural walks and nature reserves in the area, including Watchtree, a great family attraction close by. If cooking is not for you on holiday, take a short stroll to Monkhill and enjoy a meal in a multi-award-winning pub. There are picnic areas close by with views of the River Eden and a children’s play area with zip wire. If you don’t want to explore far from Rivendell, there is plenty to keep you occupied close by.

Curlew Cottage is ideally located between Allonby and Silloth on the Cumbrian west coast, with exceptional views onto the Irish Sea and further to the Scottish coastline. Surrounded by the Solway Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty you have some of the finest sand dunes in the area. This area is also part of a site of specific scientific interest as the neighbouring dunes are home to rare animals like the natterjack toad. The surrounding dune grasslands and beach are also very important for birds like Curlews, Oystercatchers, stonechat and many more for breeding and roosting, making this area perfect for nature and bird watchers alike. If your lucky you could even stumble across the submerged forest, dating back over 8000yrs, it is thought to be pine or oak which has been hidden off the coast by the sea.

The cottage itself is very traditional for the area, with many features to show off. There are 4 good sized bedrooms allowing up to 6 people to use the property for their coastal adventure or even just a get-away holiday. With a good sized garden at the rear and towards the sea you will be able to sit out on an evening and watch the sunsets with the coastline just a minutes walk. There is a covered seating area in the garden. The cottage is set among four other houses and is away from the road giving you peace of mind with both children and dogs.

With only a handful of other properties nearby you will be able to enjoy a peaceful Cumbrian holiday while also being only 30-minutes drive from the Lake District National Park where the dizzying heights of Blencathra, Skiddaw and Grisedale Pike could be your next walking destination, you may even fancy a boat trip on Ullswater, Derwentwater or Bassenthwaite Lake, all within easy reach from Curlew Cottage. Lowick also offers easy access to the market town of Ulverston with its cobbled streets and regular selection of festivals throughout the year, including the popular Dickensian Christmas market and the comedy and music of ‘Another Fine Fest’ which is in tribute to Stan Laurel, half of the timeless comedy duo, Laurel & Hardy, who was born in Ulverston.

It’s all within easy reach.

It is evident as soon as you enter Hillside House that it is filled with character and charm. There is room to hang coats and kick off your shoes in the generous hallway. A cosy living room with a bay window, fireplace, comfy seating for eight and a TV with Freesat box is located at the front of the property, an ideal spot to wind down after a day of exploring. Kirkby Lonsdale itself is a historic, quaint market town with a growing reputation for high quality independent shopping, as well as excellent restaurants, cafés and bars. The town is notably home to the 14th century Devil’s Bridge, as well as Ruskin’s View. With so much to see and do in the area, you can choose to keep yourself busy or perhaps simply relax and enjoy the peace and beauty that Kirkby Lonsdale has to offer.
Ingleton, set within the Yorkshire Dales National Park, is a 20-minute drive away. If you’re feeling energetic, join the famous waterfalls trail or explore the Whitescar Caves. There’s an abundance of pubs, cafés, bars and restaurants there too, including a cosy and quirky microbar. The Lake District National Park and Lancaster are 30 minutes’ away. Beach 13 miles.
