Frankaborough Lodge is a superb holiday home which has taken over a year to construct, with Douglas Fir logs, sustainably sourced from Scotland painstakingly shipped down to the Devonshire countryside. With many of the logs 24 inches in diameter, the sheer feat of what has been achieved is nothing short of remarkable.
Set within the owner’s farmland and with long reaching countryside views, you are in a private, peaceful location. From the private hot tub, inset beneath a wooden canopy, to the stylish decking and furniture, you will be struck by your impressive surroundings and then you step inside. The open plan living space boasts a dining area and kitchen with all you will need to prepare light meals to a hearty feast, whilst the high-quality sofas are just waiting for you to relax into, whilst enjoying the large wood burning stove, just perfect for chilly evenings or a raging storm outside! The kitchen has a magnificent island, creating an ideal breakfast area, dual ovens, a standard and combi, dishwasher, washing machine, large fridge freezer and a spacious wine cooler and carefully integrated within your wooden palace! Lighting is a big feature here, with many different styles dovetailing with the layout, perfectly positioned to create both theatre and ambience befitting of your surroundings. If you can tear yourself away, there are three superb bedrooms, one double, one king-size and a twin room, giving you great flexibility. The family bathroom is exquisite, with large walk-in shower, lots of room and immaculately finished. The property has three Smart TV’s and Wi-Fi throughout. There is plenty of parking too.
The local area is renowned for its natural beauty, with countryside a million shades of green and rolling hills. Positioned just North between the magnificence of Dartmoor National Park and Bodmin Moor, with endless walks, breath-taking viewpoints and swathed in ancient history whilst the vibrant market and stannery town of Tavistock is but a short drive away, with it’s plethora of shops, cafes and restaurants and fabulous market.
The beaches on the Northern Coast of Cornwall are plentiful, miles of golden sand and rugged cliffs stretching out to the vast Atlantic Ocean, punctuated with pretty coastal villages, such as Boscastle, Port Isaac or Tintagel whilst to the South, lies the historic naval city of Plymouth, with its many marinas and attractions. Whatever you choose to do, come back to your retreat at the day’s end, recharge, relax, rejuvenate and sleep, but watch out for the bears!

Oaklands is a luxurious and spacious holiday home set in its own acre of ground, with three beautiful bedrooms, two bathrooms and an open plan kitchen, dining and living area all on the same level. Perfect for a family or a group of friends to relax and get away from it all with plenty of opportunities to spot the neighbouring wildlife in the surrounding fields. The doorways are wide enough for wheelchairs and ramps can be provided over the doorways if requested, however please note the property hasn’t been specifically set-up for wheelchair users so the kitchen and bathrooms may not be suitable The accommodation feels bright and welcoming with high beamed ceilings, underfloor heating throughout and plenty of large windows, patio doors and sliding doors seamlessly blending the living spaces with the outdoor landscape. Guests will love the rural tranquil location with plenty of wildlife, starry skies, distant views of Dartmoor and beautiful scenery that this perfect get away can offer.
The large kitchen is fully equipped with a farmhouse cooker with two ovens and an induction hob, a fridge/freezer, microwave, coffee machine, dishwasher and a washing machine. After a fun-filled day exploring Devon, gather your friends and family around the large dining table for a celebratory homecooked meal and relax on the comfortable sofas and armchairs or sit outside with a glass of wine and watch the sun go down.
There are three comfortably furnished bedrooms. The master has a kingsize bed, an en-suite shower room and patio doors opening out onto the beautiful decked area. The second bedroom has a kingsize bed and the third has twin beds. The family bathroom is fitted with a bath, shower cubicle, heated towel rail, toilet, wash basin, and a mirror with a shaver socket.

The award-winning North Devon coastline is within an hour’s drive with its golden sandy surfing beaches and the Jurassic South Devon coastal beauty spots are within a 45-minute drive. The breathtaking scenery of the National Parks of Dartmoor and Exmoor filled with hidden gems and places to explore are within a 40-minute drive. A wealth of attractions are within easy reach including Thornes Farm Shop which is 440 yards away and famous for its strawberries with a variety of pick your own with shop and restaurant. The nearest award winning pub is just over a mile away, and within a 10-minute drive you have Bickleigh Mill, Devon Railway Centre and Bickleigh Castle. With these properties being located on a deer farm, red deer and amazing stags can be seen close up, and there are sometimes otters in the ponds. Although the ponds are unfenced, the properties gardens are fenced, so there is some barrier between the garden and ponds.

The village of Cadeleigh lies just 9 miles from Exeter, with its magnificent cathedral and many shops and canalside pubs. Tiverton is just 6 miles away, and Bickleigh Mill with its lovely river walks, small fun railway, shop and café, is nearby. Spend a day exploring tranquil moorland and winding rivers in the Exmoor National Park, as well as the breathtaking coastline full of secluded bays and spectacular cliffs. Exmoor is sprinkled with quaint villages, attractive towns and charming harbours. Enjoy a day out at Tiverton Canal, walk with the horse drawn canal boat or enjoy a boat trip. Dartmoor is just a short car ride where you can see the ponies, walk the Tors or simply stop off in one of the many villages for a Devon cream tea. Paignton, Torquay and Brixham are also great places to visit, as are Exeter and Plymouth, both within 30 minutes’ drive. There are many National Trust properties including Agatha Christie’s summer home ’Greenway’, well worth a visit. For the children, there is Crealy Adventure park, or Go Ape in Haldon. If you are bringing a bicycle, there are many cycle ways off road to be explored, including Powderham Castle where there is a cycle track all along the estuary. Pay a visit to Paignton Zoo, Torre Abbey, Dinosaur World and Torquay Museum, which are all within a short distance of each other, so you can visit all of them before strolling along the waterfront in the coastal town of Torquay.
