The property is well placed for exploring both Devon and Cornwall. Halwill Junction is just 1-mile away with a popular village inn, post office, shop and fish and chip shop. Holsworthy, 9 miles away, has a good selection of local shops and supermarkets along with a leisure centre and weekly market. The market towns of Launceston and Okehampton are only a short drive away and there are several good local pubs and restaurants close by to have a break from the cooking. Roadford Reservoir is just 15 minutes away where you can enjoy sailing and walking and where there is a lovely waterside café. Dingles Heritage Fairground is 10 miles and is a great day out whatever the weather. The wide golden sands of Bude and Widemouth Bay are 17 miles, with excellent surfing, pretty coves and dramatic coastal walks, along with shopping and leisure facilities, including 10-pin bowling, a wave pool, restaurants, bars and coffee shops.
With nature reserves and woodland close by the area is great for dog walkers. Fishing, riding, watersports and golf are all on offer close by and Dartmoor National Park is a must for nature lovers. RHS Rosemoor is a haven for gardeners and golfers can enjoy three well-groomed courses. Pigaway Cottage is ideally suited to explore the charming north Devon coast and countryside and there is so much to see and do from your holiday home. The starting point for the popular 180 mile Tarka Trail route is just ten minutes drive away, incorporating one of the country’s longest continuous traffic-free walking and cycling paths. The market town of Hatherleigh is just 5 miles away and the breathtaking Dartmoor National Park is within a 30 minute drive. There is fabulous surfing on the North Cornwall and North Devon Coast with beautiful beaches at Woolacombe, Croyde, Bude and Sandymouth. Enjoy a day out at Hartland, visit the lighthouse, Hartland Quay and the historic fishing village at Clovelly. Located under 3 miles from Crackington Haven, a coastal village at the head of a cove on the Atlantic coast and in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is popular with tourists, walkers, surfers and geology enthusiasts. At high tide the shoreline is mainly stony but when low you are greeted to a lovely golden sandy beach with plenty of rock pools to enjoy. And surfers, both experienced and beginners enjoy the varying tidal conditions the cove provides and with lifeguard cover from July to end of September you can relax a little bit more too! Much of the coastline is owned by the National Trust and is a haven for wildlife, providing fabulous walking opportunities. There are many pretty coves and inlets to discover within a short drive of this property including Boscastle, Morwenstow and stunning Tintagel, inextricably linked to the legend of King Arthur. Further afield the fishing port of Padstow is a popular tourist destination too. Bude is a fabulous coastal town that once visited, you will want to come back to time and time again. It has something for everyone including great beaches for relaxing and building sandcastles on, rockpools for investigating at low tide and cafés to watch it all from. The rolling waves are great for surfing all year round and the footpaths by the restored canal or on the South West Coast Path offer you a superb opportunity to explore and appreciate the outstanding countryside.

The doorways are wide enough for wheelchairs and ramps can be provided over the doorways if requested, however please note the property hasn’t been specifically set-up for wheelchair users so the kitchen and bathrooms may not be suitable The accommodation feels bright and welcoming with high beamed ceilings, underfloor heating throughout and plenty of large windows, patio doors and sliding doors seamlessly blending the living spaces with the outdoor landscape.
