The gothic masterpiece of Beverley Minster opened in 1225 and is one of the largest parish churches in the UK, a must visit if you venture into Beverley. The RSPB reserve at Bempton Cliffs and Spurn Point Observatory offer great birdwatching and with the Tour de Yorkshire passing through nearby villages in early May, this cottage really does offer something for everyone. The market towns of Driffield and Market Weighton are also well worth a visit. A little further afield is the historic city of York. For those who enjoy exhilarating cliff walks, Flamborough and the Bempton Nature Reserve are close by, providing the opportunity to see puffins during the summer months. The stately homes of Burton Constable Hall and Grounds, Sledmere and Burton Agnes Hall aren’t far away and for a rainy day, a visit to The Deep, a spectacular aquarium based in Hull, is an absolute must.
