    Bolton Abbey is a 30,000 acre estate. The 12th-century, Augustinian Bolton Priory is located here and is a popular tourist spot. The surrounding area is open to the public with spectacular scenery and dozens of walks. The River Wharfe flows through the area, including The Strid, which is a narrow gorge less than 2 metres across in some places.

    If you’re looking for activities, there’s an abundance of walks for all abilities from the doorstep. The area is popular with cyclists and mountain bikers. You will find golf in nearby Addingham, Ilkley and Skipton, and horse riding further up the Dales in beautiful Kilnsey.
