- South Barrow, EnglandOn the outskirts of South Barrow and set in a peaceful scenic country location between Castle Cary and Yeovil, these two single-storey barn conversions, The Cottage (ref 27191) and The Barn (ref UKC2481) make ideal bases from which to explore south and central Somerset. Within easy driving are Glastonbury Tor, the designer outlet of Clarks Village, Wells cathedral city and the West Somerset Steam Railway, all of which offer great days out. Other family days out include Longleat House and Safari Park, Cheddar Gorge, Wokey Hole or exploring the world famous Jurassic Coast. - West Pennard, EnglandThis pair of semi-detached converted barns enjoy a peaceful rural setting amongst rolling countryside, yet just a few miles from Glastonbury. The barns have been sympathetically renovated with oak floors and doors, large patio doors and with the original hayloft storage areas converted into galleried bedrooms. Both properties have a private terraced area, with a shared elevated lawned area, and the site is fully enclosed with fencing, ideal for those with pets or children. The Monarchs Way long distance footpath passes just in front of the barns and there are many organised tours, walks and listed footpaths within the immediate area, in the Mendip Hills and along the Somerset Levels. Glastonbury Town Trail and Glastonbury Rural Walk can be followed with ease. Attractions in Glastonbury include climbing up the tor for magnificent views, the Chalice Well and Rural Life Museum, the high street itself encompassing the myths, legends and spiritual ambience of the town, as well as the famous abbey. The city of Wells with its cathedral and Bishops Palace is within a 20-minute drive, as are The Royal Bath and West Showground at Shepton Mallet and Wookey Hole Caves. The Fleet Air Museum at Yeovilton and Cheddar Gorge are approximately a 30-minute drive. For retail therapy, the factory outlet centre of Clarks Village in Street is a 20-minute drive away.
