    Old Farm is a stunning Barn conversion in Southwood, just outside of Glastonbury. Converted to an extremely high standard in 2021, it’s the perfect base from which to explore Somerset. Drive past the orchard and enter through the gates into your private driveway where Old Farm awaits you, through the large Oak front door the bright and airy living space opens in front of you to welcome you in. The central open plan living space has beautiful large doors opening to the garden, a wood burner for those cosy evenings and sumptuous furnishings to allow you to relax into whilst watching TV or chilling with a glass of your favourite tipple. The kitchen is fully equipped with dishwasher, fridge freezer and washing machine as well as everything else you will need to whip up a fantastic dinner or just a simple breakfast. There is also a sitting room with large floor to ceiling windows, you can also sleep up to two extra guests on the sofa bed in here. Off the open plan living area you will find the fabulous bedrooms, both have double beds, hairdryers and en-suite bathrooms. Outside you have your private garden, with outdoor seating area and fantastic views across the fields.
    There are fabulous walks in all directions that can be taken from the doorstep, whilst the towns of Glastonbury and Street are just under 15 minutes drive away. Glastonbury, famous for its festival and ancient legends, has a great mix of eclectic shops and larger stores whilst Street is well known for its outlet shopping centre, Clarks Village, where designer bargains are to be found! Within an hour’s drive you have a wealth of National Trust properties to explore as well as fun days out at the likes of Longleat and Haynes Motor Museum.

For the keen cyclists there are endless routes along the Somerset levels and bike store with freezer is provided at the cottage. From your front door you are surrounded by countryside walks, nature reserve as well as the well renowned local pub The Sheppey, within walking distance, where you may even spot a famous face or two while sampling the fabulous menu. Head to Street for some retail therapy at Clarks Village, spend a day in Cheddar with its famous Gorge or perhaps meet the Witch of Wookey at Wookey Hole Caves!

    Welcome to The Lodge at Newmeads Farm, set in 50 acres of woodland, just a stone’s throw from Glastonbury Tor and full of local wildlife. The lodge has been finished to a high standard, enter into the large open plan living area, diner and kitchen, with vaulted ceilings and large French doors bringing in masses of light. The kitchen comes fully equipped with an American fridge freezer, washing machine, dishwasher. The living room has a double sofa bed and an electric fire for those cooler evenings to cosy up in front of, or in the summer fling open the French doors to the decked terrace and allow the fresh country air in.
    The master bedroom has a double bed, plenty of wardrobe storage and a large en-suite shower room, the second bedroom has twin beds while the spacious bathroom has a bath, toilet and heated towel rail. Outside, the lodge has a large, decked area with garden furniture to enjoy the views across the fields, there are 2 large ponds next to the lodge which attract all kinds of wildlife, which makes for a wonderful way to spend time when not exploring the local attractions. In less than a mile there is a local farm with shop and spa retreat, Middlewick Farm and in 1.5 miles there is a local beer shop. The ancient medieval town of Glastonbury can be reached in just 5 minutes by car or head across the fields by foot and be there in 20 minutes while skirting the base of the Tor at the same time. Glastonbury is full of eclectic shops as well as bars, restaurants and museums to explore, where you can enjoy the 36 acres of Glastonbury Abbey and soak up the legends and myths of King Arthur, after learning all about the ruins from the excellent museum. Hop in the car and visit the designer outlet at Clarks Village in Street for some retail bargains, head to Cheddar to visit the famous gorge and sample some Yes Cheddar Cheese or see if you can find the Witch at Wookey Hole Caves!
    The smallest city in the UK, Wells is definitely worth a visit, especially on market days, Wednesday and Saturday, when the streets come alive with local stalls by the cathedral.

    There is so much to do in the area, Street has many wonderful shops to explore, and the designer outlet is a must do, it’s a shopaholic’s dream and has plenty of restaurants to enjoy. Glastonbury with its eclectic mix of shops, ancient abbey and tor is just a 10-minute drive away or head to Wells, one of England’s smallest cities, and mosey around the cathedral, visit the market, or have a coffee in one of the many independent coffee shops. If you fancy something bigger, head to Bath and feast your eyes on the architecture or treat yourself to a luxurious pamper day at the Roman Spa Baths! For families, pop over to Wookey Hole Caves for the day, see if you can find the famous witch of Wookey Hole or head to Cheddar and see the mountains goats climbing through the gorge!
