Southwold has a beautiful beach and the Electric Picture Palace, a special bijou cinema. Not far is Walberswick, again with a lovely beach and a popular place to go crabbing. Close by is Dunwich Museum, which is the perfect history experience, it tells the story of the city lost to the sea.
A visit to the Minsmere Nature Reserve is a pleasant way to spend the day for those that love relaxing whilst taking in the beautiful views on offer. A magical day can be spent at Thorpeness, where you can take out a rowing boat on the Mere to visit the many islands named after the Peter Pan characters. If history is your thing, then a visit to Framlingham castle, a 12th-century fortress, is worth a visit as is Snape Maltings, set on the banks of the River Alde with its stylish shops and antique centre. In less than an hour you can be in the historic city of Norwich for a bit of retail therapy or to see the historic sights, there is also a bustling market.
