Scenic boat tours can be taken around the harbour. Goodwood and Fontwell races or polo at Cowdray are all within a short drive. Portsmouth, with shopping and leisure facilities, within easy reach. The Coop has close access to an extensive network of footpaths, leading to the unspoilt part of the low weald, a haven for birds and wildlife. The quaint village of Petworth is 5 miles away, with its plentiful antique shops, beautiful stately home and Capability Brown designed gardens and parkland, where many functions and events can be enjoyed during the summer months.
The charming small town of Midhurst, famous for polo at Cowdray Park is also a short drive, as are Billingshurst, Haslemere and Guildford. Alternatively, the town of Arundel with its famous castle and cathedral, plus the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust are both well worth a visit. The Witterings and other beaches are a half-hour’s drive and numerous golf courses are within easy reach.
