    A superb detached seaside holiday home, designed by a local resident architect, located on the highly desired and private Elmer Sands estate and only a stone’s throw away from Elmer Beach.
    Drift In can accommodate up to twelve guests under the one roof and is dog friendly too. This is a perfect house for a large family get together on the west Sussex coast, the accommodation can be split into two; one side, the larger main house has four bedrooms sleeping up to eight, whist the other side has two bedrooms, sleeping four. There is a single connecting door between the two living rooms and both sides have their own fully equipped kitchens. For any less able bodied guests, there is a level entry access into the house and rear garden and in the annexe, there is a double bedroom on the ground floor with a kingsize bed as well as a ground floor bathroom on the same level for a comfortable stay. Outside to the front there are two driveways, one for either side of the house, providing parking for multiple vehicles as well as side access to the enclosed lawned garden. There are decked areas with seating both to the front and rear of the house for alfresco dining.
    This lovely property is situated on the eastern side of Elmer, within a few hundred yards from the beach and foreshore. The beach at Elmer Sands is dog friendly and allows dogs all year. As the tide goes out the beach expands into flat compact sand and you get some interesting rock islands which form part of the local sea defence which is great searching for crabs and shells. It is an excellent family beach for all ages and well suited for beach games, rock pools and at low tide the water is very shallow making ideal conditions for swimming and beginners water sports. At mid to low tide there is a nice easterly walk towards Climping Beach where you can enjoy a cake and ice-cream before heading back home.
    The villages of Elmer and Middleton-on-Sea are easily reachable within a short walk of leaving the property with a few pubs, restaurants and village shops to explore. The nearest towns of Bognor Regis and Littlehampton offer even more choices and are only a short drive away. This property really is a perfect base to enjoy a beach holiday but when you want to get out and explore a little further afield, then there are plenty of activities to choose from. Take a trip to Chichester, where you can visit the town’s 12th-century cathedral and admire an area that is steeped in history, pay a visit to Arundel with its historic castle and Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust, Fontwell Park Racecourse and, of course, no visit to West Sussex is complete without frequenting the spectacular Goodwood Estate, home to the world famous Festival of Speed, Goodwood Revival and Goodwood Festival, where you can enjoy an event at the racecourse, or simply just walk round and admire the beautiful estate. You can of course also jump on the train at Bognor Regis station and travel east towards Brighton, which is known for its cosmopolitan feel and has the Royal Pavilion, art galleries, theatres, extensive shopping, pier and marina to explore. Alternatively, head along the rails west to Portsmouth and visit its historic dockyard, admire the Spinnaker Tower, historic ships or enjoy waterside dining and shopping at Gunwharf Quays and finally for an excellent day trip, you could even take a ferry across the Solent to the Isle of Wight.     The Stables is one of two newly built farm cottages set in a courtyard of a 16th-century thatched house. Surrounded by over thirty acres of fields, sometimes grazed by sheep it is a haven for wildlife and birds and a great space for a morning run or private dog walk.
    There is plenty of space for kids to play outside of the garden area. Stylishly and comfortably furnished with wooden floors and open rafters, the cottage has a light, airy, and modern feel. Bedrooms have full doors which open onto a garden area with fields beyond. We are located between West Wittering famous for its sandy Blue Flag beach and dunes and the walled City of Chichester with its historic cathedral, a famous theatre, and many other attractions. Nearby Goodwood hosts world-renowned racing and motorsport events. You can fly in a Spitfire (expensive) from its aerodrome or at least hopefully see one flying over from the cafe or at the beach. Itchenor is a short distance here you can hire a boat or get the foot ferry across to picturesque Bosham. Boat trips into the harbour and fishing trips can also be booked. There are paddle boards, surfboards, and kayaks for hire, and lessons are available, Chichester harbour is an ideal place to practice or learn. There is a pay-and-play 18-hole golf course close by. Walking on the many beautiful coastal paths offers bird-watching opportunities and there are some lovely walks in the nearby South Downs. The Down and Weald Open Air Museum can be found here, a unique day out and where The Repair Shop is filmed.
    Portsmouth is a 20-minute drive, its historic shipyard houses the Mary Rose and there are many more museums here as well outlet shopping at Gunwharf Quays. Ferry/Hovercraft to the Isle of Wight. National Trust properties at Arundel and Petworth are set in pretty market towns. Uppark is close by too along with houses/ gardens at West Dean and Cowdry. There are some lovely pubs and dining in the vicinity as well as cafes and more well-known restaurants in Chichester. The county is also home to many vineyards open for visitors. The bus stops for the beach/East Wittering and Chichester in the other direction are almost outside the property. The Stables and The Dairy can be booked together to accommodate eight.
