Goatchers Cottage and Goatchers Studio are situated in the pretty garden of the owner who lives at the property location and renovated the properties to the highest levels. Both have amazing beds, one being a French Antique and the other being a four poster. The properties are located in The South Downs National Park in the pretty village of Findon which is a semi-rural clustered village and civil parish in the Arun District of West Sussex, England, 4 miles north of Worthing.
Located very close to Cissbury Ring which is owned by the National Trust and is designated a Scheduled monument for its Neolithic flint mine and Iron Age hillfort. Cissbury Ring is the largest hill fort in Sussex, the second largest in England and one of the largest in Europe overall, covering some 60 acres. The village has a couple of traditional pubs serving amazing food as well as a few restaurants all within a short walk. If mountain biking is your thing then you are in for a real treat as there are plenty of trails locally that will get the blood pumping.
Brighton is located just over 14 miles to the East and Worthing beach is just 5 miles South and being submerged in The South Down National Park there is plenty of opportunity to explore this beautiful part of the world. Just park up and walk through the gates to the properties where you will find some great hospitality from the owners. Both of these properties are newly renovated and of the highest standard with some sitting out space which is literally bathed in the sunshine all day.

The spacious conservatory with ample seating, leads to the gorgeous and substantial garden. Downsview Park is ideally situated just over a mile south of the beautiful town of Arundel. Individual shops, stunning architecture, imposing castle and riverside location make this a must spend day or two during your holiday. The WWT Wetland Centre, Swanbourne Lake and South Downs National Park with its pretty villages and fabulous hiking opportunities are all within 5 minutes. Numerous stately homes and gardens are dotted around the area. Goodwood with its world famous motor circuit and horse racing venue is a 20 minute easy drive. The pretty grass runway airport here offers the chance to take an airborne sightseeing experience offering memorable views of the coastline including Portsmouth Dockyards, Gunwharf Quays and the Spinnaker Tower that by road are a 40 minute drive. Lunch or tea airside in this stunning location is also possible. Dogs are welcomed everywhere at Goodwood. Two championship golf courses are on the estate and spa experiences available at the hotel. Tours and afternoon tea are available also here at the stately home. Chichester with its cathedral and Festival Theatre are a short drive, Brighton being 18 miles distant. Dog friendly beaches abound with quite a collection very nearby, a favourite being West Beach at Climping where there is the lovely Baliffscourt for a special dining treat.

Close to the South Downs National Park, this attractive cottage is ideal for couples wishing to stroll, cycle, fish, play golf or visit the numerous attractions within easy reach.
The Coop has close access to an extensive network of footpaths, leading to the unspoilt part of the low weald, a haven for birds and wildlife. The quaint village of Petworth is 5 miles away, with its plentiful antique shops, beautiful stately home and Capability Brown designed gardens and parkland, where many functions and events can be enjoyed during the summer months.
The charming small town of Midhurst, famous for polo at Cowdray Park is also a short drive, as are Billingshurst, Haslemere and Guildford. Goodwood, with its motor racing and horse racing, Fontwell races, West Dean Gardens, Parham House, The Weald, Downland Open Air Museum and the South Downs are all within easy driving distance, as is the cathedral city of Chichester with its extensive shopping and tea rooms, festival theatre and harbour tours.
Alternatively, the town of Arundel with its famous castle and cathedral, plus the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust are both well worth a visit. The Witterings and other beaches are a half-hour’s drive and numerous golf courses are within easy reach. There is a shop, pub and restaurant within ¼ mile from the property.

Set off the beautiful Lombard Street, an historic cobbled street in the heart of Petworth’s old town centre, Westwood dates back to the 17th Century and epitomises the abundance of character found in this genteel corner of Sussex.

A gate from the street leads along an ancient passageway to the rear courtyard, and entrance into Westwood’s newly fitted kitchen. The kitchen contains a wide range of appliances including a coffee machine. Heading upstairs, the intimate dining area offers a church pew bench and beckons you in with deep purple tones. Next to the dining area is the kingsize bedroom, and to the other side the family bathroom. With a vaulted ceiling, the cosy living room is resplendent in rich red décor, exposed beams and brickwork, and offers a Chesterfield sofa, loveseat and Smart TV.

From the sitting room an unassuming, tiny door reveals a fabulous snug room. With two armchairs and a bar-style desk looking down over the cobbled street below, it is the perfect spot to inspire a Dickensian novel. The snug also leads into bedroom two, a large twin looking out over the ancient rooves of Petworth. Outside there is a small, sunny courtyard accessed from the kitchen, fully enclosed for the kids and pooch and offering a bistro table, bench seat and charcoal BBQ.

Petworth is full of quaint houses and cottages, interspersed with antique shops, tea-rooms and restaurants. It is best known as the location of the stately home Petworth House and its deer park landscaped by Capability Brown. The House contains an internationally renowned art collection with numerous works by Turner and is just a couple of minutes’ walk from Westwood. The entrance to the park is less than a mile away, giving easy access for a brisk walk with the dog in the early morning mist. There is also extensive walking across the Shimmings Valley. To the east, the market town of Midhurst nestles next to Cowdray Park, famous for its polo club and the Gold Cup.

Ten miles south, the famous Goodwood Estate offers a golf course, the motor circuit, racecourse and aerodrome, with particular mention of course to the Festival of Speed, the Goodwood Revival and Glorious Goodwood. Also nearby are Chichester and Arundel. The Sussex coast and its beaches are within a 30-minute drive.

Honeysuckle House is a very well-presented holiday home which is able to comfortably accommodate up to four guests over its two floors, providing a great location for couples or a small family to stay when looking to explore the Sussex area and wider south coast of England.
The owners have had plenty of experience staying in holiday homes themselves, so have ensured that you should have all you need for a comfortable stay. The property is dog friendly with an enclosed garden to its rear and the use of a garage allowing storage for bicycles, canoes or even a small boat. There is allocated parking in front of the garage. There are many activities to discover close by including golf, fishing, water sports, horse riding, boat trips and plentiful scenic walks.
Venture out south from the property and enjoy the extensive views of Chichester Harbour, an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and haven for bird life. Sandy beaches at Hayling Island and The Witterings are all about a 20-minute drive away. Whilst to the north lies the rich and varied countryside of the South Downs National Park, with its many miles of bridle and footpaths, rural villages, and traditional country pubs to discover. A 10-minute drive to the east is the elegant cathedral town of Chichester, which has a Roman villa, popular theatre, cinema complex, leisure centre with indoor pool, and a host of restaurants, inns and shops. Bosham and Emsworth, both great for sailing are less than 10 minutes away. There is also a train station less than a mile away with direct links to London, Brighton, Littlehampton and Portsmouth.
The Goodwood Estate in the heart of West Sussex, famed for its motor racing, golfing and horse racing and home to the world-famous Festival of Speed is also nearby, as is the open-air Weald and Downland Museum and next door to that are West Dean Gardens. Historic Arundel is within easy reach, with a castle and Wildfowl and Wetlands Park. Alternatively, to the west, you will find the nautical city of Portsmouth with Spinnaker Tower, Gunwharf Quays with its designer outlets and waterside dining, plus the historic dockyard where you can take a tour around the HMS Victory and the Mary Rose Museum. Southampton, the New Forest, and Brighton are all within an hour’s drive.

Situated less than 200 yards from the beach, these houses lie along a village road, close to Elmer village and within half a mile along the beach of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty which stretches several miles from Elmer to Littlehampton. The beaches in this area remain quiet, even during the busiest summer periods and are ideal for swimming, windsurfing, sailing, fishing and walking. For people who would like more entertainment, Bognor Regis and Littlehampton are close by and provide various themed attractions. Elmer is in an ideal location to explore many of the attractions of the south coast from bustling Brighton to the east, to historic Portsmouth and the Isle of Wight to the west. In between there are beautiful places such as Chichester with its ancient cathedral and Festival Theatre, quaint Arundel with its castle and antique shops, Goodwood and Fontwell race courses and the beautiful South Downs close by. From a raised footpath above the street, the small entrance hall opens into the open plan living space, with wood burner and Smart TV. A little further into the room, a large dining table sits next to the modern kitchen, and there is a huge hatchway for easy serving and a fantastic social aspect to the room. Two two rattan chairs sit in a sunny spot next to the French doors that lead onto the patio. There is a small desk in the living room, and a separate toilet in the entrance hall. Stairs lead from the dining area to the first floor. Upstairs is a generous master bedroom with kingsize bed, built-in wardrobe, an armchair and table to enjoy views of the world going by on the street below. The second bedroom also offers a kingsize bed, a built-in wardrobe and fabulous rooftop views over Arundel, the River Arun and the Arun plain. Next door, the family bathroom has a full bath with shower over. Outside to the rear and accessed via the kitchen, the lovely walled courtyard offers a suntrap setting for al fresco dining on the patio.
A gentle 5-minute stroll will bring you right into the centre of Arundel, a historic market town whose skyline is dominated by the symbolic castle and the rising spire of the cathedral. It offers a plethora of craft and antique shops as well as fine restaurants and tearooms. It is a great place to wander and simply enjoy great hospitality. Arundel Castle is the seat of the Dukes of Norfolk and is set in 40 acres of sweeping grounds and gardens. The castle has been seasonally open to visitors for nearly 200 years. It is one of the great treasure houses of England and is home to priceless works of art in stunning rooms. Climbing the 131 steps to the keep, which dates from the 11th century, to take in the views over Arundel and the South Downs is definitely worth the effort. Beyond the castle grounds, Arundel Park SSSI extends north towards the Downs offering many fine walks. The Mill Road entrance at Swanbourne Lake is just a short walk from the castle.

The River Arun winds its way around the town and is a magnet for wildlife. With more than 60 acres of ponds, lakes and reed beds, Arundel Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust attracts some of the world’s most spectacular ducks, geese, swans and other wetland birds. The best way to enjoy the river is on a river cruise, stopping off at the serene Black Rabbit pub, or proceeding further north where the river hugs the scarp wooded slope at the foot of the Downs before reaching Amberley.
Further afield, Arundel is well placed for the coast. Climping Beach and Littlehampton’s West Beach are only a short drive away, heading directly south from Arundel. This is a beautiful unspoilt length of beach of Special Scientific Interest, and at the eastern end beside the mouth of the River Arun is the West Beach Café, built by local craftsmen using materials sourced locally. It is worth a visit, the fish and chips come highly recommended! Goodwood with its Festival of Speed, Revival and Qatar Festival (Glorious Goodwood) and Fontwell racecourses are nearby, along with the cathedral city of Chichester – with its excellent Festival Theatre noted for not only the quality of productions but also the fact many world premieres are featured as well.

Littlehampton has a bustling marina and harbour where you can watch the fishermen bringing in their daily catch or perhaps take a stroll along the boulevard and enjoy the attractions of this traditional seaside resort. A charming flint cottage set in a wonderful South Downs hamlet with stunning countryside views and walks on the doorstep. This former farm building was once part of the Duke of Norfolk’s Estate and now is a wonderful holiday retreat with panoramic views of the South Downs.

Walnut Tree Cottage has an open plan living space with access to the patio with garden furniture, perfect spot for breakast with uninterrupted views. The kitchen is well-equipped and there are two bedrooms, one with en-suite facilities, and a separate bathroom.

Patching is a quaint village centred along ’The Street’. At the top as the lane climbs towards the South Downs is the church and beside that the Walnut Tree Cottage. Footpaths lead from here to the Downs on a number of different routes. To the east is Long Furlong, a magnificent crescent-shaped piece of downland - it’s like the South Downs in miniature. It is easily reached from the neighbouring village of Clapham where a walk along the top gives great views inland. Take the downland paths around the woodland of Angmering Park and you reach the attractive villages of Wepham and Burpham 3 miles to the west. Like Patching they lie at the foot of the Downs and are frequented by walkers. The George and Dragon is a traditional English country pub set right in the heart of Burpham and is worth visiting - it is hard to pass by when enjoying a walk to Burpham!
