The coastline from Saltburn-by-the-Sea to Filey, is a place of rugged beauty, with many isolated fishing villages such as Staithes and Robin Hoods Bay all just a short drive away. Out on the moors are the picture perfect villages of Hutton Le Hole, Pickering or Helmsley, with its castle and gardens all waiting to be explored. The property is situated just 12 miles from the town of Whitby, with its year round events and festivals such as the Goth Weekend and the Steampunk Weekend. Famous for its link to Dracula, the abbey and its award winning fish and chips, Whitby has something for everyone. For something different you can take a steam train journey into ‘Heartbeat’ country Goathland, or head out to sea from Whitby on a boat trip, where you could see seals and whales. Ride on horseback, glide over the sea on a paddleboard, or even fly through the tree tops on a zip wire – there are lots of outdoor activities all within an hour’s drive.
