Along the Heritage Coast there are miles of sandy beaches and smugglers’ coves can be found at Staithes and Robin Hood’s Bay. The historic walled city of York (20 miles) holds irresistible appeal for all ages with its minster, castle and railway museums, Jorvik centre, river cruises and ghost walks. Shops and pub 1½ miles.
