Accessed by a rough track and set amidst farmland enjoying glorious mountain panoramas and views over open fields to Cardigan Bay, the cottage is cosy and full of character. Conveniently located half way between the two very popular coastal villages of Criccieth and Porthmadog, Tyddyn Iolyn is an excellent base to explore this delightful area, with a multitude of amazing walks, fantastic cycling opportunities and a fine selection of visitor attractions nearby.
Porthmadog is the departure point for wonderful steam train journeys on the world famous Ffestiniog Railway as it winds its spectacular way through superb scenery up into the Snowdonia Mountains. The pretty Italianate village of Portmeirion, location of the cult TV series ‘The Prisoner’ is also close by. Criccieth is a pretty village watched over by a medieval castle, and boasts a lovely beach and a good selection of restaurants and shops. The surrounding Snowdonia National Park offers a myriad of outdoor pursuits suitable for all ages. Beach 2½ miles. Shop, pubs and restaurants 2½ miles.

Ymwlch Barns are a charming complex of barn conversions situated in a quiet hamlet offering beautiful mountain views and country walks. The Dutch barns (UK12872 and UK12873) are superb, semi-detached barn conversions each offering modern open plan living with a luxurious touch and lovely private hot tubs in enclosed courtyards (towels not provided). They each have a kingsize bedroom and a twin room, making them ideal for small families or couples. Kris Kin (ref OXU) is a charming detached barn conversion with oak beams, wooden floor, well-equipped kitchen and an en-suite bathroom. This property also has its own hot tub.

The surroundings are alive with snowdrops in winter and bluebells in spring. The complex is a short drive away from the beach and castle at Criccieth, and a lovely selection of restaurants, cafes, shops and pubs. Situated on the beautiful Lleyn Peninsula, the area is perfect for walking and cycling with an abundance of lovely footpaths and peaceful country lanes. Just under 5 miles away is the lovely town of Porthmadog, with its pretty harbour and the start of fabulous narrow gauge steam train rides on the world famous Ffestiniog railway, which takes you deep into the heart of the magnificent Snowdonia National Park. The Italianate village of Portmeirion, zip wires and a great selection of golf courses are all close by. Beach 3 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 2¼ miles.

You’ll be greeted by a spacious four bedroom house that has been fully refurbished to an excellent standard. There’s a large kitchen/dining area with a warming wood burner, an ideal spot to chat about the day and rustle up a meal in the fully equipped kitchen. A living area with cosy sofa seating to relax any weary legs from all the fabulous walking routes this area has to offer. Outside there’s a private rear garden area with the icing on the cake, a hot tub to enjoy.
Situated in the quiet village of Garndolbenmaen in the Snowdonia National Park, this cottage is near to one of the new UNESCO World Heritage sites for Wales Slate - ’Gorseddau and Prince of Wales Slate Quarries, Railways and Mill’. This is a perfect central location for Porthmadog home to the Welsh Highland Steam Railway, Cricieth perfect for spotting porpoises in the bay, and Harlech home to another World Heritage Site Harlech Castle, the Llyn Peninsula and the Snowdonia mountains and passes are all within easy reach. There’s excellent scenic hill walks right from the doorstep. Beach 7 miles.

Enjoy a holiday at this charming cottage which has been carefully restored to showcase a variety of original features, including a large inglenook fireplace housing a Clearview wood burner. The Ancient Houses Commission recently dendro-chronologically dated the timbers of Hen Dy holiday cottage to be from 1550.
A very good local pub is just a mile away from the cottage on the main road. To the west, the Llyn Peninsula offers many coves, harbours and vast stretches of safe, sandy beaches. Black Rock sands is the closest. The coast path is 84 miles of diverse landscapes including open countryside, wild heath and coastal features.

This delightful log cabin has been thoughtfully furnished to offer a cosy and welcoming feel, with enough room for all the family. On a covered veranda in the garden you will find the blissful hot tub, which offers the perfect place to relax at the end of the day, with views of the pleasant enclosed garden. Both bedrooms offer the flexibility of zip and link twin beds which can be made into super kingsize beds (on request). The owners have thoughtfully provided complimentary toiletries should you forget your own!
Bring your bucket and spade as the glorious sandy beach at Morfa Dyffryn is just a mile down the road and offers superb views over to the Rhinog Mountains. For the more adventurous, Zip World and Bounce Below at Blaenau Ffestiniog are a thrill seekers delight, whilst the famous Ffestiniog Railway and mighty Harlech Castle are also well worth a visit. From Barmouth, why not hire a bike and cycle across Barmouth Bridge and along the Mawddach Trail to Penmaenpool and Dolgellau? Beach 1 mile. Shops 300 yards, pubs and restaurants ½ mile.

Set on the edge of Abergynolwyn, a village that lies in the shadows of Cader Idris and situated between the popular seaside resort of Tywyn and market town Dolgellau, this beautiful detached barn conversion provides spacious accommodation, ideal for families wishing to enjoy the peace and tranquillity. Tywyn is surrounded by the Tarren Hills, and holds the 7-mile long Talyllyn Narrow Gauge Steam Railway that runs between Tywyn Wharf and Nant Gwernol. Nearby Tal-y-llyn lake and Talyllyn steam railway are always popular with visitors, as are the sandy beaches along Cardigan Bay. Some visitor attractions include the Centre for Alternative Technology, King Arthur’s Labyrinth, Animalarium, Coed-y-Brenin Forest and Portmeirion Italianate village. The spacious paved garden area at the back of the property includes an outdoor shower, summerhouse, rattan seating, a large dining table and outdoor table tennis table; however if the rain interrupts your outdoor plans, there is a 6ft pool table and dart board, two real fires, free Wi-Fi, TVs, Netflix and plenty of DVDs and books indoors, to keep you entertained every day and evening.

Two dogs are very welcome at Llwynfor, and there’s a spacious utility room for their baskets/crates. Llwynfor is just a 600m walk from Morfa Nefyn beach and The Cliffs Inn, 1km from a spectacular golf course and 2km from the beautiful National Trust fishing village Porthdinllaen. Slightly further afield you’ll find secluded coves and stunning beaches, beautiful villages, more great golf courses, surfing at Porth Neigwl, water sports in Abersoch and all the attractions of Snowdonia.

Further down the coast you’ll find Criccieth and Harlech, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, along with Porthmadog, home to the Welsh Highland Railway. Y Stabal is set on a carefully tended, large, working stock farm, together with the owner’s imposing 18th-century farmhouse. A gentle 3½-mile stroll leads to Llangian, one of the prettiest award winning villages on the Llyn Peninsula in North Wales. Abersoch is a vibrant seaside village has lots of sheltered, sunny niches along its beautiful sandy beach popular with watersports enthusiasts. The annual jazz festival is held in June and the Wakeboarding Festival in July. There are many shops and visitor attractions open all year (with good sales in the shops after the summer) making it a lovely place to holiday in at any time.

Pebble Cottage is a stunning former fisherman’s cottage situated close to the beach front and local amenities in Aberdovey. There isn’t a better location to be for those looking for a seaside escape. Set within the southern reaches of the Snowdonia National Park, excellent for those walkers visiting the area. Aberdovey is a thriving seaside fishing village with brightly painted houses which seem to cling to the shoreline, and has a history dating back hundreds of years. It offers miles of beautiful golden sandy beaches with a fantastic selection of water based activities available including sailing, fishing and windsurfing. Golfers are also well catered for with an 18-hole championship golf course located at the western end of the village, which welcomes visiting players. Outdoor enthusiasts will enjoy the wonderful opportunities for walking and bird watching available in the surrounding area. A myriad of visitor attractions are within easy reach including the Vale of Rheidol Railway, Talyllyn Railway, the Corris Craft Centre and King Arthur’s Labyrinth. Beach 100 yards.
